Wofford (14-12) at Furman (5-20)

GAME NOTES: The Wofford Terriers will try to break a three-game skid tonight, as they square off against the Furman Paladins in Southern Conference action at Timmons Arena. After ripping off wins in six of seven outings, the Terriers have fallen into a slump, losing their last three contests. The team was most recently in action on Thursday, when it suffered a 77-66 setback against Georgia Southern. With the loss, Wofford fell to 14-12 overall and just 7-9 in SoCon play. As for Furman, it is coming off a disastrous performance, dropping an 86-51 decision to league-leading Davidson on Saturday. It was the third defeat in the past four games by the Paladins, who dipped to 5-20 overall and 4-12 in conference play. Furman leads the all-time series with Wofford, 80-40, but the Terriers trounced the Paladins, 75-42, in an earlier meeting this month.

The Terriers are shooting 45.2 percent from the floor and 39.7 percent from long distance for an average of 67.5 ppg this season. Shane Nichols is making good on 42.1 percent of his long-range attempts and he leads the squad in scoring at 14.6 ppg. Drew Gibson chips in with 11.2 ppg and he has been responsible for setting up his teammates, handing out a club-high 5.8 apg. In the team's last game, Wofford shot a lackluster 39.0 percent from the field, including a poor 2-of-19 showing from three-point range, as it was defeated by Georgia Southern. Noah Dahlman paced the team in the loss with 13 points and six boards, while Gibson logged 11 points and eight assists.

The Paladins were dominated on the boards, 41-25, and outscored in the paint, 38-18, in a lopsided loss at Davidson over the weekend. The team shot just 38.8 percent from the floor and committed 16 turnovers as well. George Brozos led Furman in the setback with 14 points, while Connor Nolte had 13 points. Alex Opacic was limited to just eight points, but he still leads the team in both scoring (10.6 ppg) and rebounding (4.8 rpg) for the season. Justin Dehm is a close second with 10.3 ppg and he is shooting 38.9 percent from three-point land. As a whole, the Paladins are scoring just 61.0 ppg, while giving up a much higher 72.0 ppg.

Wofford took the first meeting in convincing fashion and with a big three-point effort, it should be able to complete the regular season sweep tonight.
