Austin Peay (18-9) at Tennessee State (11-15)

GAME NOTES: The top team in the Ohio Valley Conference will invade the Gentry Center, as the Austin Peay Governors will clash with the Tennessee State Tigers this evening. The Govs cruise into this contest riding a five-game winning streak. The last time Austin Peay was on the court the team grabbed an 80-76 victory over Tennessee Tech. The win pushed the Govs' league mark to an OVC best 14-3. Austin Peay has struggled on the road this year though, as the squad is a mere 6-7 away from home. As for the Tigers, they snapped a four-game slide with a hard-fought, 75-70 victory over Murray State this past Thursday. With the win the Tigers are now just 8-9 in league play and just 6-5 at the Gentry Center. In terms of the all-time series between the two schools on the hardwood, the Governors have a strong, 38-21 edge over Tennessee State in the all-time series, and that includes Austin Peay's thrilling, 79-78 victory over TSU earlier this month.

The Govs have plenty of options offensively, as five players are currently producing double figures. The strong offensive presence has led to 74.6 ppg. Drake Reed has done a tremendous job in the paint, netting 15.4 ppg to go along with 5.7 rpg. Wes Channels and Derek Wright have formed a talented duo in the backcourt, as Channels is posting 12.0 ppg, while Wright is netting 11.6 ppg. Dominating the glass for Austin Peay, is Fernandez Lockett, who is grabbing a team-high 6.8 rpg to go along with 11.1 ppg. Todd Babington is shooting below 40.0 percent from the floor, but is still chipping in 10.6 ppg. Austin Peay shot 48.2 percent from the field in the recent 80-76 victory over Tennessee Tech. Wright had a strong performance for the Govs, netting 18 points to go along with five assists and seven steals. Reed added a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Kyle Duncan tallied 14 points.

The Tigers have also done a terrific job at the offensive end of the floor, as the squad is netting 75.0 ppg, while shooting 46.0 percent from the field. Bruce Price has done everything for Tennessee State, scoring 18.1 ppg to go along with 4.8 rpg, 4.9 apg and 58 steals. Gerald Robinson has also done well for TSU, posting 15.2 ppg. Jerrell Houston has been the top option in the paint, as the forward is averaging 10.8 ppg to go along with a team-high 6.2 rpg. The Tigers' strong offensive play continued this past Thursday, as the team defeated Murray State, 75-70. In the win, TSU shot 46.0 percent from the floor and connected on 83.3 percent from the foul line. Andrae Belton paced the team with 16 points, while Price added 15 points to go along with five rebounds and six assists. Reiley Ervin contributed 14 points in the win, while Darius Cox chipped in 11 points to go along with nine rebounds.

This should be a high-scoring affair between two exciting teams. While the Govs are on the road, the team has far too many options for TSU, which has been terrible at the defensive end of the floor
