Georgia Southern (17-8) at Wofford (14-11)

GAME NOTES: The Wofford Terriers will try to avoid a third consecutive loss tonight, as they entertain the Georgia Southern Eagles in Southern Conference play at Benjamin Johnson Arena. After winning six of seven games, the Terriers have suffered back-to-back losses, including an 83-55 beating at the hands of Appalachian State on Monday. With the loss, Wofford dipped to 14-11 overall and one-game under .500 in conference play at 7-8. The team now returns back home, where it has logged an 8-4 mark, including a 4-4 ledger versus SoCon foes. As for GSU, it enters the contest with a full head of steam, winning three straight and five of its past six outings. The team was last in play on Saturday, when it pounded Chattanooga by an 81-61 score. With the victory, the Eagles improved themselves to 17-8 overall and 10-5 in conference play. GSU leads the all-time series with Wofford, 19-14, but the Terries handed the Eagles their only home loss of the season in a meeting last month.

The Eagles knocked down 48.2 percent of their shots from the field, including 11-of-24 from three-point range, as they ran away for Chattanooga over the weekend. GSU also forced Chattanooga into a whopping 27 turnovers, scoring 28 points off those miscues. For the eighth game in a row, Louis Graham led the team in scoring, netting 17 points to go with three steals. Anthony Marshall came off the bench and posted 16 points, while Willie Powers had 15 points and four assists. For the season, Graham has clearly been the squad's most productive player, leading the team in scoring (16.6 ppg), rebounding (6.9 rpg) and steals (47). Powers is second in order with 12.2 ppg and he is connecting on 42.3 percent of his long-distance attempts. GSU, as a team, has done a solid job at the offensive end of the court, scoring 74.6 ppg behind 44.6 percent shooting from the field.

The Terriers shot a dismal 32.8 percent from the floor and their 10 turnovers led to 22 points for Appalachian State in an embarrassing loss on Monday. Wofford did not have much success from three-point range (5-of-18) or at the foul line (12-of-20) either, in the setback. Drew Gibson guided the team in defeat with 13 points, while Shane Nichols chipped in with 10 points. For the season, Nichols tops the roster in scoring with 14.9 ppg on the strength of 42.5 percent shooting from downtown. Gibson contributes 11.2 ppg and he has been in charge of setting up his teammates, dishing out a club-best 5.7 apg. As a whole, Wofford is netting 67.6 ppg courtesy of an efficient 40.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

Wofford took the first meeting on the road and with a big effort from three- point land, it should be able to complete the sweep of a tough GSU club tonight.
