Ohio University (16-7) at Toledo (7-15)

GAME NOTES: The Ohio University Bobcats will try to remain in the win column when they battle the Toledo Rockets this evening in a Mid-American Conference tilt at the Savage Hall. The Bobcats have won six of their last seven games, including a hard fought, 57-54 victory over Western Michigan this past Friday. With the win, Ohio is now 7-3 in league action, good for second place in the East Division. As for the Rockets, they have lost five of their last seven contests, including two in a row. The last time Toledo was on the court the team suffered a rough, 69-58 setback to Bowling Green. The current skid has dropped the Rockets' conference mark to a mere 4-6 on the year. In terms of the all-time series between the two schools, the Bobcats have won the last three contests, and now hold a solid, 62-52 advantage over Toledo.

The Bobcats have one of the toughest frontcourt tandems in the MAC, as Leon Williams and Jerome Tillman have caused havoc for opponents. Williams is currently averaging a double-double, netting 16.6 ppg, while grabbing 10.2 rpg. As for Tillman, he is posting 13.0 ppg to go along with 7.3 rpg. Bubba Walther is chipping in 11.0 ppg for Ohio, which is producing 67.3 ppg as a team. The last time Ohio was on the floor the team only scored 57 points, but it was enough to slip past Western Michigan by a three-point margin. The Bobcats only shot 36.4 percent overall, but connected on 19-of-25 attempts from the foul line. Williams was outstanding in the win, netting 26 points, while pulling down 15 rebounds. Walther added 13 points in the win, but Tillman finished with only two points and eight rebounds.

The Rockets have misfired time and time again and head into this game netting just 58.8 ppg, while shooting a meager 39.1 percent from the floor. Tyrone Kent has been the only real scoring threat for Toledo, as the guard is posting 17.3 ppg. Jonathan Amos is the only other player producing double figures, and comes into tonight posting 11.9 ppg to go along with 5.2 rpg. The Rockets' offensive struggles continued this past weekend, as the squad fell to Bowling Green, 69-58. In the loss Toledo shot just 35.2 percent from the floor and made just 9-of-25 three-point attempts. Kent was just 5-of-20 from the floor, but still led the way with 15 points. Jerrah Young added 14 points, while Amos finished with just nine points and five turnovers.

The Rockets have been dreadful all year, and should continue to struggle tonight. The Bobcats' duo of Williams and Tillman should dominate this contest.
