Bowling Green (11-11) at Eastern Michigan (8-14)

GAME NOTES: Tonight at the Convocation Center, the Eastern Michigan Eagles will host the Bowling Green Falcons in a Mid-American Conference showdown. This past Sunday the Falcons snapped a small two-game losing skid with a strong, 69-58 victory over the Toledo Rockets. The win pushed the Falcons' league record to a mediocre 6-4 on the year. As for the Eagles, they have dropped four of their last five contests, including a tough, 68-64 loss to Buffalo this past weekend. The current skid has dropped the Eagles' league ledger to a mere 4-6 on the year. Eastern Michigan has only eight wins on the year, but five of those victories have come at the Convocation Center. Last year the Eagles snapped a three-game losing skid to BGSU with a 65-63 victory over the Falcons. However, Bowling Green still holds a 43-36 lead in the all-time series.

The Falcons' offensive play has been a let down the entire season, but that has not stopped BGSU from posting a mediocre 11-11 record on the year. The Falcons are shooting a healthy 44.7 percent from the field, but that has led to a mere 63.9 ppg. Nate Miller has been the top option for the Falcons, as the forward is netting 13.6 ppg, while also grabbing 5.9 rpg. Chris Knight is the only other player producing double figures, and heads into this contest with 10.8 ppg, and a team-high 7.3 rpg. The last time BGSU was on the court the team grabbed a 69-58 victory over Toledo. In the win, the Falcons shot a strong 54.2 percent from the floor and also dominated the battle on the glass, 39-24. Miller had another solid outing, posting a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Darryl Clements added 12 points and six rebounds, while Otis Polk also chipped in 12 points.

Much like their counterpart, the Eagles have been unable to find their groove offensively, and head into this contest netting just 65.0 ppg, while shooting 42.3 percent from the floor. Carlos Medlock is only shooting 36.4 percent on the year, but that has not stopped the guard from leading the team with 13.5 ppg. Medlock is also collecting 3.4 rpg, while averaging a team-best 4.2 apg. Jesse Bunkley is the only other player posting double figures, as the guard is chipping in 10.4 ppg. The offensive woes for EMU continued this past weekend, as the team fell to Buffalo by a four-point margin. The Eagles shot just 38.9 percent from the floor and also committed 16 turnovers. Bunkley was just 5- of-14 in the game, but still led the way with 15 points. Medlock added 12 points, eight boards and six assists, but also committed six turnovers in the loss.

The Falcons have a strong frontcourt duo, which should definitely cause trouble for EMU. However, if the Eagles can hit their shots early in the game, then the squad should be able to pull out a tough win at home.
