Wisconsin-Green Bay (13-10) at Cleveland State (15-10)

GAME NOTES: The Cleveland State Vikings wrap up a three-game homestand tonight, as they host the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix in Horizon League play at the Wolstein Center. After taking control of the HL with a 7-0 start, the Vikings hit a rough patch, dropping five consecutive outings. CSU however, was finally able to put an end to its drought by slipping past Detroit, 60-56, on Saturday. With the win, the Vikings improved to 15-10 overall and 6-1 against league foes at home. As for UWGB, it fell short in its upset bid on Saturday, dropping a 62-57 decision to nationally-ranked Butler. The loss snapped a brief two-game win streak, as the Phoenix slipped to 13-10 overall and 7-6 in conference play. UWGB leads the all-time series with CSU, 34-20, and that includes a 59-50 triumph in the first meeting last month.

The Phoenix turned the ball over 15 times and that proved costly, as Butler scored 18 points off those miscues in a 62-57 decision over the weekend. UWGB shot 45.1 percent from the floor in the contest, but it was also outscored at the foul line, 12-5. Terry Evans paced the team in defeat with a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Ryan Tillema scored the same amount of points and grabbed seven boards. Rahmon Fletcher chipped in with 12 points, and Mike Schachtner posted nine points and nine rebounds. For the season, Schachtner leads the squad in scoring at 16.9 ppg and he is also collecting 4.7 rpg. Tillema is next in line with 11.7 ppg on 42.0 percent shooting from long distance, and Fletcher rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.0 ppg. Overall, UWGB is turning in 69.4 ppg on 45.7 percent shooting from the field and 75.3 percent at the foul line.

The Vikings were able to overcome a lackluster 36.5 percent shooting performance from the floor by forcing Detroit into 22 turnovers in 60-56 win over Saturday. CSU netted 20 points from those turnovers, and it also converted on 19-of-22 tries at the charity stripe. J'Nathan Bullock led the charge with 21 points and five rebounds, while Cedric Jackson had 13 points and five boards. For the season, Jackson has tried to do it all for the Vikings and he has succeeded in leading them in scoring (14.2 ppg), assists (4.6 apg) and steals (64). Bullock has provided a nice complement to him, as he turns in 13.4 ppg and a team-best 6.1 rpg. As a whole, the Vikings are producing 67.8 ppg and knocking down 43.2 percent of their field goals.

CSU finally got back on track this past weekend and it should be able to use that momentum and home crowd support to get past UWGB tonight.
