Rider (16-6) at Siena (13-7)

GAME NOTES: A Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference showdown is set to take place in Albany today, as the Siena Saints play host to the Rider Broncs. Rider comes into the matchup red hot, having won eight straight, including a satisfying 79-65 road triumph over Marist on Wednesday night. The Broncs improved their season ledger to 16-6 with the win, and moved to 9-2 in MAAC play. As for Siena, it has notched victories in four of its last five outings, including a 64-51 final over Iona last Sunday. The Saints improved to 13-7 on the season with that win, and currently sit at 8-2 in conference. Siena leads the all-time series with Rider by a 16-9 margin.

Rider shot 51.9 percent from the floor, including 8-of-16 from beyond the arc, in Wednesday's 14-point victory over Marist. The Broncs added 15-of-21 from the charity stripe during the contest, and outrebounded the Red Foxes, 38-27. Jason Thompson poured in a game-high 20 points and collected nine rebounds to pace the Broncs, while Harris Mansell added 15 points. Ryan Thompson scored 14 points to go with six boards, and Justin Robinson chipped in 11 points in the win. Jason Thompson, with his 19.8 ppg, leads the club in scoring, and his 11.0 rpg is good enough to pace the team as well. Ryan Thompson has also been a solid contributor for the Broncs this year, tallying 15.3 points and 6.5 caroms per contest. Mansell joins the duo in double figures, netting 13.3 ppg. Rider is shooting a solid 48.9 percent from the floor, and as a result net 77.4 ppg.

The Saints held Iona to just 39.2 percent shooting from the floor during last Sunday's 14-point win. The Saints scored 29 points off 23 Gael turnovers, and sunk 23-of-33 shots at the foul line. Alex Franklin scored 17 points off the bench to pace Siena in the victory, while Kenny Hasbrouck added 13 of his own. Edwin Ubiles and Josh Duell also achieved double digits, chipping in 12 and 11 points, respectively. Siena is led by Ubiles (16.3 ppg) this season, while Hasbrouck checks in with 14.8 ppg. Ronald Moore leads the Saints in assists (101) and chips in 9.2 ppg.

Expect Rider, which has been red-hot of late, to steal a road victory here. The Broncs have a balanced offensive attack and score a ton of points.
