Maryland (13-8) at Georgia Tech (10-9)

GAME NOTES: The Maryland Terrapins are set to invade Atlanta for an ACC clash with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Wins in three of their last four outings have enabled the Terps to improve to 13-8 overall and 3-3 in league play. They are fresh off an 85-75 decision over Virginia on Wednesday, and they enter this bout with a 2-1 record in true road outings. Maryland has scored more than 80 points in three consecutive games after reaching that mark only once in the first 18 tilts. Ironically, Georgia Tech's most recent outing also came against Virginia, as the Yellow Jackets posted a 92-82 decision over the Cavaliers in overtime. That win was the third straight for Tech, which is 10-9 overall and 3-3 in ACC action. The all-time series between Maryland and Georgia Tech is tied at 33-33, as the Terps evened things up with an 80-64 decision over the Yellow Jackets last season.

Maryland is scoring 73.2 ppg this season while limiting opponents to 66.9 ppg on 37.5 percent shooting from the floor. Greivis Vasquez leads the Terps with 16.9 ppg, 6.1 apg and 31 steals, and the fact that the point guard is also pulling down 5.2 rpg is proof of his tremendous versatility. James Gist is posting 15.5 ppg to go along with 7.9 rpg and 49 blocks, while Bambale Osby contributes 11.5 ppg. Rounding out the double-digit scorers is Eric Hayes with 10.9 ppg. In the 10-point victory over Virginia last time out, all five Maryland starters reached double figures in scoring. The reserves combined for just four points, a sign that the team lacks significant depth. Vasquez poured in 25 points, and Gist had 17 points and nine boards. As for Hayes, he scored 15 points with nine assists against only one turnover.

Matt Causey scored 18 points last Sunday, as he was one of five Georgia Tech players to reach double figures in the overtime win over Virginia. Gani Lawal tallied 15 points, Lewis Clinch posted 14 points and Zack Peacock added 12 for the Yellow Jackets, who also got 11 points from Maurice Miller. Tech connected on 50.8 percent of its field goal attempts in the clash and finished with 20 assists against 10 turnovers. Strong defense was also key to the triumph, as the Yellow Jackets limited the Cavs to 37.2 percent overall shooting. Anthony Morrow has started all 19 games this season and is netting 14.3 ppg for Tech. Clinch adds 11.5 ppg, and Jeremis Smith is scoring 10.1 ppg to go along with 7.1 rpg. The Yellow Jackets are generating 77.7 ppg while limiting opponents to 74.0 ppg.

Expect Georgia Tech to take care of business at home today before heading back out on the road. A balanced scoring attack will be key for the Yellow Jackets.
