Hofstra (6-13) at Towson (8-11)

GAME NOTES: Having posted back-to-back wins for the first time this season, the Hofstra Pride now shoot for a rare three-game win streak tonight as they visit the Towson Tigers in a Colonial Athletic Association showdown. On Monday night, the Pride took a break from conference play to challenge the Longwood Lancers, taking down the visitors by a score of 75-60. The win came two days after Hofstra slipped by Northeastern on the road in CAA play. As for the Tigers, they too are riding a two-game win streak for the very first time in 2007-08 after defeating James Madison on Saturday night by a score of 73-64. The squad is now 4-1 at home versus the rest of the league, but just 0-4 on the road against members of the CAA. With their 64-60 win in the last meeting a season ago, the Pride extended their lead in the all-time series with Towson to 28-17.

One of four starters to score in double figures on Monday night, Antoine Agudio tallied a game-high 28 points, handed out five assists and collected four rebounds in the win over Longwood. Nathaniel Lester posted 13 points and pulled down eight boards, while Dane Johnson and Greg Johnson each scored 12 points, with the latter clearing a team-high 10 rebounds as well. Agudio, who is now fifth on Hofstra's all-time scoring list with 2,035 points, made good on 5-of-8 shots behind the three-point line in the contest. Playing just under 40 minutes per game, Agudio is one of the nation's top scorers with 23.2 ppg, with Charles Jenkins steps in as the only other double-digit scorer on the roster with his 14.3 ppg. Between the pair they are producing better than eight rebounds per game and have 89 of the unit's 194 assists.

Except for Junior Hairston who finished with four points to go along with nine rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots, every starter scored in double figures for the Tigers in their win over JMU on Saturday. Tony Durant recorded a career-high 20 points, C.C. Williams added 19, while Jonathan Pease and Josh Thornton each tallied 10 points. The last six games for Towson have seen a different leading scorer each time out, yet Hairston has managed to stay atop the scoring list for the season nevertheless with his 13.0 ppg. The team leader with 36 blocked shots as well, Hairston is averaging a double-double with 10.4 rpg, yet the team is getting beaten on the glass by four rebounds per game. Thornton accounts for 12.4 ppg as a 43.2 percent shooter from three-point range, but now with Rodney Spruill (12.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg) on the injured list the squad is having trouble filling the gap.

Hofstra may be a bit tired having played on Monday, but at least Agudio is again finding his stroke, which is certain to be bad news for the Tigers tonight.
