Tennessee Tech (9-13) at Morehead State (9-10)

GAME NOTES: The Morehead State Eagles get a four-game homestand underway tonight, as they host the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in a key Ohio Valley Conference event at Johnson Arena. MSU is coming off a heart-breaking defeat, as it was upended in overtime, 66-65, at Eastern Illinois on Saturday. The setback brought the team's season-high five-game win streak to an end, as it fell to 9-10 overall and 7-5 in conference play. On a positive note, MSU now returns back home, where it has gone a perfect 7-0, including 5-0 against league foes. As for TTU, it also suffered a one-point loss in its last outing, dropping a 73-72 decision to Tennessee State on Saturday. It was the second straight loss by TTU, which dipped to 9-13 overall and an even 6-6 in conference action. The team now hits the road, where it has gone 3-3 against league members thus far. In terms of the all-time series, MSU holds a 66-61 edge over TTU, but the Golden Eagles won the prior meeting this month, 73-55, in Cookeville.

LaDarious Weaver drained a three-pointer at the buzzer, sending TTU to a 73-72 defeat at the hands of Tennessee State on Saturday. The bucket ruined an otherwise solid effort by the Eagles, who shot 50.0 percent from the field and made 19-of-24 free-throw attempts. Amadi McKenzie guided the team in defeat with 19 points, while Anthony Fisher logged 15 points and three steals. For the season, Fisher tops the roster in scoring (16.7 ppg) and steals (36) and he is also dishing out a team-best 3.3 apg. McKenzie ranks second in both scoring (14.0 ppg) and rebounding (8.0 rpg), while Daniel Northern contributes 11.5 ppg and a team-high 8.9 rpg. As a whole, TTU is turning in 73.6 ppg on the strength of 44.4 percent shooting from the field.

Julio Anthony sank a three-point field goal with 2.8 seconds remaining in overtime, giving Eastern Illinois a 66-65 victory over MSU this past weekend. The Eagles set themselves back all game long, shooting just 36.1 percent from the floor, including a poor 7-of-25 effort from downtown. Leon Buchanan led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds for MSU, while Jamyron Steward had 11 points. For the season, Buchanan leads the Eagles with 13.2 ppg and he is also collecting 5.6 rpg. Maze Stallworth nips at his heels with 13.1 ppg on the strength of 41.6 percent shooting from long distance, while Steward chips in with 11.4 ppg. Overall, MSU is producing 64.7 ppg behind 42.2 percent shooting from the floor.

MSU has been at its best at home this season and with the support its fans, it should be able to rebound with a win tonight.
