Eastern Kentucky (9-10) at Tennessee-Martin (10-12)

GAME NOTES: The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks will try to continue their winning ways when they host the Eastern Kentucky Colonels this evening is an Ohio Valley Conference matchup at the Elam Center. The Colonels have won three of their last four contests, including a thrilling, 65-63 victory over Tennessee State this past Thursday. It was just the third road win of the season for EKU, which is now 6-5 in league play. As for the Skyhawks, they have won back- to-back games, defeating Samford (61-43) and most recently Jacksonville State (81-70). Tennessee-Martin has been inconsistent against league opponents, and is currently just 6-6 in OVC play. Next up for UT-Martin will be a home matchup against Tennessee Tech, followed by a road game against Southeast Missouri State. Eastern Kentucky posted a 70-51 victory over Tennessee-Martin earlier this season, and now has a solid 19-13 edge over the Skyhawks in the all-time series.

The Colonels only scored 65 points the last time they were on the court, but it was enough for EKU to slip past Tennessee State by a two-point margin. In the win, the Colonels shot 50.0 percent from the field and were led by Mike Rose's 18 points. Darnell Dialls added 15 points and grabbed seven boards in the win, while Adam Leonard and Justin Stommes contributed 13 points apiece. Rose and Dialls have been the top two scoring options for EKU, as Rose is netting 14.8 ppg, while Dialls is posting 11.9 ppg to go along with a team-best 6.5 rpg. As a whole, Eastern Kentucky is shooting 44.5 percent from the field, but that has led to only 61.8 ppg.

The Skyhawks' offense is based around their sensational guard Lester Hudson, who is currently second in the nation with 26.9 ppg. Hudson has been red-hot since the start of the season and is netting 47.5 percent of his attempts from the field, and an equally impressive 42.2 percent from long range. Hudson is also grabbing 7.7 rpg, while leading the team with 85 assists and 74 steals. Marquis Weddle is contributing 14.9 ppg on the season, while Gerald Robinson is netting 13.6 ppg to go along with a team-best 8.5 rpg. The Skyhawks posted an 11-point win over Jacksonville State this past Saturday. In the victory, the team shot 50.0 percent from the floor and was led by Robinson, who posted an outstanding double-double with 26 points and 19 rebounds. Hudson also tallied a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards, while Weddle chipped in 16 points.

The Skyhawks should have no trouble this evening against EKU. The Colonels are strong defensively, but the team will not be able to contain Hudson and company, especially on the road.
