Central Michigan (8-10) at Ohio University (13-6)

GAME NOTES: The red-hot Ohio Bobcats will try to remain in the win column when they host the Central Michigan Chippewas this evening in a Mid-American Conference battle at the Convocation Center. The Chippewas have won two of their last three contests, including a thrilling, 65-64 win over Akron this past Saturday. With the win the Chippewas are now an even 3-3 in league action. Where Central Michigan has struggled the most is on the road, as the team is just 3-8 in games away from home. As for the Bobcats, they have won four of their last five games, including three in a row. The last time Ohio was on the floor the team recorded a hard-fought, 61-59 win over Ball State. With the win the Bobcats remained perfect at home with a 7-0 ledger, and also boosted their conference mark to a solid 4-2. The Bobcats have dominated the all-time series against Central Michigan and have a commanding, 41-23 edge over the Chippewas.

The Chippewas have not been overpowering offensively this season, as the squad is netting 70.5 ppg, while shooting 44.8 percent from the floor. Giordan Watson has been the top scoring threat, as the guard is netting 15.9 ppg, while also leading the team with 77 assists. Nate Minnoy is the only other player posting double figures for CMU, as the forward is chipping in 10.9 ppg to go along with 4.6 rpg. The last time CMU was on the court the team only scored 65 points, but it was just enough to slip past Akron by a one-point margin. The Chippewas shot 50.0 percent from the field and were led by Minnoy, who scored 21 points to go along with six rebounds. As for Watson, he struggled, posting just six points, while committing seven turnovers.

Just like their counterpart, the Bobcats have done just enough to collect victories this season. Ohio is only netting 68.4 ppg, but the team is shooing 45.9 percent from the floor. Leon Williams and Jerome Tillman are most likely the most dangerous frontcourt duo in the MAC. Williams is averaging a double- double on the year with 16.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg. As for Tillman, he is netting 13.9 ppg to go along with 7.6 rpg. Bubba Walther is only netting 36.5 percent of his attempts from the field, but the guard is still chipping in 10.9 ppg. The last time Ohio was on the court, the team only scored 61 points, but it was enough for the Bobcats to claw their way past Ball State. In the win, the Bobcats were paced by Williams, who netted 23 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Bert Whittington chipped in 14 points in the win.

These two schools matchup well against each other, but the Bobcats have a tremendous edge in the frontcourt, and that should lead to more scoring chances for Ohio.
