UNC Greensboro (11-6) at The Citadel (5-13)

GAME NOTES: Conference foes on opposite sides of the spectrum are set to meet tonight in South Carolina, as The Citadel Bulldogs invite the UNC-Greensboro Spartans to McAllister Field House for a Southern Conference tilt. Greensboro enters tonight's contest on the heels of an 88-71 trouncing of the College of Charleston on Thursday night, the club's second consecutive victory. The win pushed UNCG to 11-6 on the season and 5-3 in SoCon play. As for The Citadel, the Bulldogs have been nothing short of abysmal recently, dropping seven straight and eight of their last 10. The Citadel is still in search of its first win in league play, coming into the matchup with an 0-9 SoCon mark. The club's most recent setback, an 87-70 trouncing by Davidson, dropped the Bulldogs to 5-13 on the season. UNCG leads the all-time series between these two teams, holding a 10-5 lead over The Citadel.

Kyle Hines has been a force to be reckoned with this season for UNCG, as he leads the club in scoring (18.8 ppg) and rebounding (9.2 rpg). Hines currently has 922 career rebounds, 11 shy of the 40-year old school record set by Bruce Smith, and his 67-game streak of scoring 10 or more points per game leads the country. Kevin Oleksiak and Mikko Koivisto join Hines with double-digit averages this season, netting 10.8 and 10.6 ppg, respectively. Hines poured in a game-high 32 points while grabbing nine rebounds to pace Greensboro over the College of Charleston on Thursday night, a contest in which the Spartans handed the Cougars their worst home loss in 20 years. Oleksiak netted 16 points to go with nine assists in the win, while Ben Stywall and Koivisto added 15 and 13 points, respectively for the Spartans. UNCG shot a scorching 66.7 percent from the field during the contest, including 9-of-20 from beyond the arc, while forcing the Cougars into a game-high 13 turnovers.

The Citadel allowed Davidson to shoot a blazing 59.6 percent from the floor during Thursday's 17-point defeat, and lost the battle of the boards by a 31-22 margin. Austin Dahn led the Bulldogs with 19 points in the losing effort, while Cameron Wells netted 13 points. Jon Brick also contributed 13 points off the bench for The Citadel. Wells and his 13.4 ppg leads the Bulldogs this season, and he is joined in double figures only by Dahn (10.9 ppg).

UNCG should win this one in dominating fashion, as no team is much colder than The Citadel right now. The Bulldogs will be in trouble from the opening tip, even at home.
