Wofford (9-8) at Georgia Southern (12-6)

GAME NOTES: The Georgia Southern Eagles look to remain perfect at Hanner Fieldhouse when they welcome the Wofford Terriers for a Southern Conference tilt tonight. Wofford busted out of an offensive rut its previous time on the court when it took care of The Citadel, 80-76 on the road. The Terriers had lost three straight games in which the offense averaged just 53.0 points an outing. It was just the second conference and true road triumph of the season for the Terriers. Meanwhile, Georgia Southern was 40 minutes away from sweeping a three-game conference road trip on Saturday, but couldn't squeak by Appalachian State. The 88-81 loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Eagles, as they remain home for five of the next seven games, where they have posted a perfect 5-0 record. GSU has had Wofford's number at Hanner Fieldhouse, winning 11 of 16 contests in front of the Eagle faithful.

Facing off against the only winless team in conference play was just what Wofford needed to gain some confidence mid-season. The offense had played miserably the previous few weeks, but five players reached double figures in the four-point victory over The Citadel. Terry Martin paced the squad with a brilliant 6-of-8 shooting performance from the field en route to netting a game-high 17 points. Shane Nichols, the team's leading scorer at 15.6 ppg, added 10 points, while Junior Salters was effective off the bench in tallying 12 points and four assists. Drew Gibson dished out a game-high eight assists to go along with 13 points. On the season, the playmaking guard averages 10.1 points and 5.2 assists per game. It was a great step forward for the offense, as the defense still ranks first in the SoCon with 64.3 points against per game.

The all-around game of Louis Graham was on full display in Georgia Southern's seven-point loss to Appalachian State. The forward had team-highs of 22 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, and three steals in the losing effort. That kind of production isn't abnormal for Graham, who leads the team in all four of those categories with 14.6 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 38 blocks and 33 steals. Willie Powers is the only other Eagle scoring in double figures with 12.8 ppg. Powers contributed 16 points and five assists in the loss to ASU, while Dwayne Foreman posted a similar outing with 15 points and four assists. Foreman ranks second in the conference in assists with 6.2 per game.

The Terriers had trouble putting away a woeful Citadel club last weekend, while Georgia Southern hung tough in its third straight road game. Expect the Eagles to remain perfect at home in rather easy fashion.
