Miami-Ohio (7-9) at Bowling Green (7-9)

GAME NOTES: After grabbing their first league victory, the Miami-Ohio RedHawks will try to remain in the win column when they battle the Bowling Green Falcons in a Mid-American Conference tussle at the Anderson Arena. The RedHawks snapped a five-game losing skid with a tough, 64-57 victory over Buffalo this past weekend. It was the first league win of the season for Miami, which is near the bottom of the East Division in the MAC. The RedHawks are currently 7-9 on the season, and on the road the team is much worse, posting a pathetic 1-6 ledger on the road. As for the Falcons, they have dropped three of their last five games, including an embarrassing, 80-44 loss to Akron this past Sunday. Bowling Green is also just 7-9 on the season, but at home the team has a winning record at 4-3. Next up for the Falcons will be a home game against Northern Illinois, followed by two straight road games. The Falcons snapped a four-game losing skid against Miami this past season with a 68-64 victory. However, the RedHawks still hold a commanding, 71-46 edge over Bowling Green.

The RedHawks do a solid job defensively when they take the floor, as the team is surrendering just 61.9 ppg. However, it is at the other end of the court where the team has struggled, as Miami is netting only 60.1 ppg. Tim Pollitz is the clear leader of this squad, averaging 16.1 ppg to go along with a team-best 6.8 rpg. Michael Bramos is the only other player netting double-figures for Miami, as the guard is posting 15.9 ppg. The RedHawks continued their strong defensive display this past weekend, as the team limited Buffalo to just 35.0 percent shooting and 4-of-17 from behind the arc. At the other end of the court the team was led by Kenny Hayes, who scored 20 points. Pollitz added 18 points and grabbed eight boards for Miami, while his twin brother, Eric Pollitz, tallied 10 points.

The Falcons have been inconsistent at the offensive end of the floor this season, and head into this matchup averaging just 64.2 ppg. Nate Miller has been the top option for BGSU, but the guard is netting just 13.0 ppg, while also grabbing 5.9 rpg. The only other player netting double-figures is Chris Knight, who is posting 11.8 ppg to go along with a team-best 7.1 rpg. The last time the Falcons were on the court the team was pounded by Akron, 80-44. In the setback, BGSU shot only 33.3 percent from the floor and made just 2-of-16 attempts from behind the arc. Brian Moten was the only player to post double- digits, netting 13 points off the bench. As for Miller and Knight, they scored seven points apiece.

Miami should have no trouble defensively, but the team will definitely need to improve at the offensive end if it plans on winning this contest.
