Toledo (5-11) at Eastern Michigan (6-10)

GAME NOTES: Mid-American Conference play will take place this evening, as the Eastern Michigan Eagles will host the Toledo Rockets at the Convocation Center. It has been a sub par year for the Rockets, who are just 5-11 on the season. The team has lost two of its last three games, including a rough, 75-62 setback to Western Michigan this past Saturday. The loss dropped Toledo to just 2-2 in league play, and left the team with an atrocious 0-10 ledger on the road. As for the Eagles, they had a small two-game winning streak snapped with a tough, 64-60 setback to Ball State over the weekend. Eastern Michigan is just 3-3 at the Convocation Center this season. After this contest the Eagles will hit the road to face Miami-Ohio, and will follow that matchup with a home game against Kent State. The Rockets have won the last six meetings with Eastern Michigan and now hold a 43-36 lead in the all-time series.

Lack of offense has been the main cause for Toledo's terrible season, as the team is averaging just 59.8 ppg, while shooting only 39.7 percent from the field. Tyrone Kent is the top offensive threat, as the guard is netting 18.3 ppg, despite shooting well below 40.0 percent from the floor. Jonathan Amos is the only other player posting double figures for Toledo, and heads into this game netting 12.7 ppg. Toledo's offensive woes continued this past weekend, as the team was defeated by Western Michigan, 75-62. In the loss, the team shot an atrocious 31.7 percent from the field and lost the battle on the glass, 41-31. Kent shot a horrendous 5-of-20 from the field, but still led the way with 18 points. Ridley Johnson added 16 points, while Amos posted 14 points to go along with a team-high 10 rebounds.

The Eagles had their wings clipped the last time they took the floor, as the team suffered a four-point loss to Ball State. In the setback, EMU shot 43.2 percent from the floor, but made just 7-of-19 attempts from behind the arc, and went just 15-of-21 from the foul line. This has been the trend for EMU also season, as the team has been extremely inconsistent on offense, averaging just 66.0 ppg, while shooting a mere 41.4 percent from the floor. Carlos Medlock is only shooting 35.9 percent on the season, but the guard is still pacing the team with 13.1 ppg. Jesse Bunkley and Justin Dobbins have also played well, netting 11.3 and 10.6 ppg, respectively. In the loss to BSU, the Eagles were led by Medlock, who scored 21 points. Bunkley added 10 points, while James Matthews also posted 10 points.

The Rockets have been atrocious on the road this season, and although the Eagles have been inconsistent offensively, they should be able to fly high in this matchup.
