Chattanooga (12-6) at Davidson (9-6)

GAME NOTES: Davidson will celebrate its 100th anniversary with Southern Conference action tonight, as the Chattanooga Mocs travel to North Carolina for a tilt against the Wildcats at Belk Arena. The Mocs had a four-game win streak snapped their last time on the hardwood, suffering a tough 92-83 setback at Appalachian State on Thursday night. The loss gave Chattanooga its first blemish of the season in SoCon play, and dropped its overall ledger to 12-6. As for Davidson, the Wildcats have been on fire of late, and have reeled off a season-best five wins in a row. The club's most recent success came in the form of a 73-51 trouncing of Furman on the road this past Wednesday. The victory improved Davidson's season record to 9-6, and preserved a perfect 7-0 mark in league play. Chattanooga leads the all-time series between the two foes by a 31-16 margin.

Chattanooga shot a solid 48.5 percent from the floor during Thursday night's nine-point setback at ASU, but the Mocs struggled from beyond the arc (9-of-23) as well as at the foul line (8-of-19) during the contest. Chattanooga was also guilty of a game-high 17 turnovers which resulted in 21 points for its opponent. Nicchaeus Doaks posted a team-high 22 points to go with 10 rebounds to lead the Mocs in the losing effort, while Khalil Hartwell and Stephen McDowell added 14 points apiece. McDowell leads Chattanooga with 16.1 ppg this season, and is joined in double digits by Doaks, who tallies 12.7 ppg to go with a team-best 7.0 rpg.

Davidson is led by Stephen Curry, who averages a whopping 22.9 ppg. He is joined in double digits only by Jason Richards (12.8 ppg), although Thomas Sander and Boris Meno are right on the cusp, with 9.0 and 8.0 ppg, respectively. The Wildcats shot a solid 51.8 percent from the floor and held Furman to just 35.3 percent during Wednesday night's 22-point victory. Davidson also forced the Paladins into 16 turnovers, and turned those miscues into 22 points. Curry scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Wildcats in the win, and Meno added 12 points. Richards netted himself 11 points to go with a game-high eight assists, and Will Archambault chipped in 10 points off the bench.

Give the edge to red-hot Davidson here, especially at home. The crowd and the team will be fired up with the 100th anniversary celebration, and will do everything in its power to keep that perfect SoCon record intact.
