Youngstown State (6-8) at Wright State (8-5)

GAME NOTES: A Horizon League battle will take place tonight at the Nutter Center, when the Wright State Raiders host the Youngstown State Penguins. The last time YSU was on the court the team had its three-game winning streak snapped with an embarrassing, 61-39 setback to UW-Milwaukee. The Penguins are currently 6-8 on the season, but on the road the team is a mere 1-5. Next up for YSU will be a road game against Detroit, followed by two straight home matchups. As for the Raiders, they have dropped two consecutive games, falling to UW-Milwaukee (75-64) and most recently UW-Green Bay (52-49). Wright State is just 1-3 in league action this season, but the lone victory came against 14th-ranked Butler. In terms of the all-time series between the two schools on the hardwood, the Raiders have a comfortable 27-7 advantage over Youngstown State.

The Penguins have had trouble finding consistency at the offensive end of the floor and head into tonight's game averaging just 65.3 ppg, while shooting a mere 41.3 percent from the floor. Byron Davis is currently leading the squad with 13.9 ppg. John Barber is next in line with 13.1 ppg, while leading the team with 6.6 rpg. Jack Liles is the only other player producing double figures on the year, as the forward is netting 11.0 ppg, while also pulling down 5.7 rpg. Unfortunately the last time YSU was on the court, the team had its worst offensive showing of the season, netting just 39 points en route to a 22-point setback to UW-Milwaukee. In the loss, the Penguins shot a pathetic 24.5 percent from the field and made only one of 13 attempts from long range. Liles was the only player with double digit points in the loss, scoring 11, while also grabbing nine boards. As for Davis, he was just 1-of-10 from the field and finished with just six points.

The last time the Raiders were on the court the team posted a pathetic 49 points in a three-point loss to UW-Green Bay. In the loss, the team shot a mere 33.9 percent from the field and connected on only 6-of-19 attempts from behind the arc. Todd Brown, who is leading the team with 16.1 ppg, was the only player to score double figures in the recent setback, as the guard poured in 24 points. Other than Brown, the team is receiving plenty of help from Vaughn Duggins and Scottie Wilson. Duggins is posting 14.5 ppg on the year, while Wilson is netting 10.6 ppg to go along with a team-best 7.2 rpg. On the year, the Raiders have had some trouble offensively, as the team is producing only 66.2 ppg, while shooting a mediocre 43.7 percent from the field.

Neither team has performed well offensively, but considering the Raiders will be on their home floor, they should be able to grab a win against a weak road team in YSU.
