Hofstra (3-9) at UNC-Wilmington (8-7)

GAME NOTES: Colonial Athletic Association action will take place tonight, as the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks get set to host the Hofstra Pride at the Trask Coliseum. The Pride snapped a four-game losing skid the last time they were on the floor by claiming a 66-60 victory over James Madison. The Pride have had a very tough time on the road this season, losing all five of their contests away from home. Next up for Hofstra will be a road matchup against VCU. As for the Seahawks, they have lost four of their last five games, including three in a row. The last time UNCW was on the court the team suffered a rough, 72-57 setback to VCU. The Seahawks are just 1-2 in league play this season with the lone win coming against Hofstra earlier in the year. With the 87-83 overtime win over Hofstra, the Seahawks now own an 11-4 edge in the all-time series.

It is no coincidence that the Pride snapped their four-game losing skid when Antoine Agudio returned to the court. The team's standout guard returned from an ankle injury this past weekend against James Madison and did not miss a beat, scoring a team-high 19 points, while leading the Pride to a six-point win over JMU. Agudio is clearly the team's top option and is producing a whopping 25.9 ppg. Other than Agudio, only Charles Jenkins is averaging double figures, as the guard is netting 13.6 ppg. Jenkins contributed in the win over JMU, posting 15 points, while Darren Townes tallied 11 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Although the team was victorious against James Madison, the Pride have struggled offensively, averaging just 65.8 ppg, while shooting a mere 40.5 percent from the floor.

During the Seahawks' recent three-game losing skid the team has struggled to produce offensively, netting no more than 60 points in each of the three setbacks. The last time UNCW was on the floor the team tallied just 57 points en route to a 15-point setback to VCU. In the loss, the Seahawks shot 40.4 percent from the field, and connected on only 4-of-16 attempts from behind the arc. T.J. Carter, who is currently pacing the team with 16.0 ppg, led the way in the loss for UNCW, netting 15 points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. Vladimir Kuljanin added 12 points, while Chad Tomko chipped in 10 points. As for Daniel Fountain (13.5 ppg) and Todd Hendley (13.3 ppg), they combined for a mere 15 points against VCU. However, despite the recent slump, the Seahawks are still averaging 73.8 ppg and are shooting well over 45.0 percent from the floor.

Obviously Agudio will be a handful for Wilmington, but if the Seahawks can contain him they should have no problem snapping their recent slide.
