Fairfield (4-9) at Siena (8-5)

GAME NOTES: The Siena Saints will try to remain perfect in league action when they host the Fairfield Stags this evening in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference battle at the Times Union Center. The Stags are coming off a thrilling, 69-67 victory over Loyola-Maryland this past Friday. It was the second victory in the last three games for Fairfield, which opened the season with eight losses in its first 10 contests. Although Fairfield has just four wins on the year, three of those victories have come on the road. As for the Saints, they have also won two of their last three games, including a 79-56 victory over the Saint Peter's this past Sunday. Siena is 6-1 at the Times Union Center this season, and this team has won 11 of its last 12 games on its home floor. The Stags have defeated Siena in four of the last six matchups, including a 72-67 victory this past January. The recent success for Fairfield over Siena has brought this all-time series to a 23-23 tie.

Offense has been a tremendous problem for the Stags since day one of the season. Fairfield is currently averaging just 63.6 ppg, while shooting a mere 40.8 percent from the field. Jonathan Han is currently the only player averaging double figures for Fairfield, as the guard is scoring 12.4 ppg on the year. The last time the Stags took the floor the team scored 69 points, but it was enough to slip by Loyola for a victory. In the win, Fairfield shot 50.0 percent from the floor and connected on 10-of-20 attempts from behind the arc. Mike Evanovich paced the team with 20 points in the win, while Han tallied 13 points.

As for the Saints, they have had no trouble putting up points this year, as the squad is averaging 79.2 ppg, while shooting a strong 45.8 percent from the field. Kenny Hasbrouck has been the main scoring option for Siena, as the guard is averaging 17.1 ppg. Edwin Ubiles is second on the squad with 16.5 ppg on the year and is shooting a stellar 54.2 percent from the field. Although Ronald Moore is shooting a mere 36.1 percent from the field on the year, the guard is still chipping in 10.1 ppg. The last time Siena was on the court the team continued its impressive offensive play, by scoring 79 points en route to a 23-point win over Saint Peter's. In the victory, the Saints shot over 50.0 percent from the field and were led by Hasbrouck, who poured in 28 points. Ubiles added 13 points in the win, while Moore chipped in eight points to go along with five rebounds.

The Saints should have no trouble pouring it on in this matchup. Siena is much better in many aspects of the game and should breeze by Fairfield.
