Dartmouth (5-6) at Siena (6-4)

GAME NOTES: Two teams in need of a win will tangle this afternoon at the Times Union Center, as the Siena Saints will host the Dartmouth Big Green in a non- conference battle. The Big Green are coming off back-to-back losses to Quinnipiac (85-63) and Army (59-56), both setbacks coming on the road. Dartmouth has struggled away from home this season, losing five of its six games. Next up for the Big Green will be a road matchup against Harvard. As for the Saints, they have also dropped their last two games, losing to Cornell and Saint Joseph's. Siena is a mediocre 6-4 on the season, but at home the team is a solid 4-1. It does not get any easier for Siena as the team will next square off against Memphis on the road. The Saints lead the all-time series against Dartmouth by a 4-1 margin, and that includes a small two-game winning streak.

The Big Green have had their issues at the offensive end of the floor, and come into this game netting a mere 65.5 ppg, while shooting 43.1 percent. Dartmouth has limited scoring options, but one player the team can count on is Alex Barnett. The forward is currently leading the squad with 16.5 ppg and 6.6 rpg. DeVon Mosley is the only other player netting double figures, as the guard is averaging 13.3 ppg. The last time Dartmouth took the floor, the team shot a mere 37.5 percent and finished with just 56 points. In the setback, Barnett paced the team with 20 points, while Johnathan Ball contributed 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench. As for Mosley, he struggled in the loss, netting just 2-of-11 shots for only seven points.

Unlike their counterpart, the Saints have had no trouble scoring points this year, as the team is currently averaging a solid 80.3 ppg, while shooting 46.6 percent from the field. Edwin Ubiles is leading four players in double figures with 17.5 ppg, and has been outstanding from behind the arc, netting 45.5 percent of his three-point attempts. Kenny Hasbrouck is second on the team with 16.6 ppg, while Alex Franklin has been the main option in the paint, netting 15.4 ppg to go along with a team-best 7.8 rpg. Despite shooting 35.1 percent from the field, Ronald Moore is chipping in 11.2 ppg. This past Friday the Saints did not put forth their best effort, which is why the team fell to the Hawks, 74-68. Siena shot just 41 percent from the field and that included a mere 8-of-24 clip from behind the arc. Ubiles paced the team in defeat with 16 points, while Tay Fisher added 14 points.

The Saints will likely snap this small two-game losing skid this evening against a weak Dartmouth squad. Look for Ubiles and company to take an early lead and coast to a victory.
