Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Baron Davis scored 35 points and Stephen Jackson added 29 as the Golden State Warriors beat the Atlanta Hawks 135-118 at Philips Arena.
Monta Ellis scored 20 points and Mickael Pietrus had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Warriors, who have won four straight. Al Harrington donated 13 points for Golden State, which shot 54.5 percent on its was to a season-high in scoring.
"We are used to playing at this pace and obviously Atlanta isn't," said Warriors coach Don Nelson. "And that's another thing we mentioned at halftime. It's funny how a team not used to playing at this pace, to do it the whole game can't do it. Usually they'll be more conservative."
Joe Johnson scored 38 points and Josh Smith had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Hawks, who have dropped two straight.
"I was just playing man," said Johnson. "When you play these guys anything is likely to happen, the way they get up and down the floor. I think it's fun playing like that but a the same time when you are on the other end of the stick and your getting killed, it's tough".
Marvin Williams also added 20 points and Al Horford chipped in with 14 for Atlanta.
Davis' layup with 10:11 left in the third quarter put the Warriors ahead 75-74 and sparked a 15-0 run. Jackson's three-pointer with 7:46 left in the frame capped the surge and gave Golden State an 88-74 advantage.
Jackson went on to score 18 points in the quarter and the Warriors led 100-92 heading into the fourth.
Golden State put the game away early in the final stanza with a 15-3 flurry. Ellis began the run with a jumper and dunk, and Pietrus finished it with an alley-oop dunk giving the Warriors a commanding 115-95 lead with 8:16 left.
The Hawks never threatened down the stretch. Pietrus finished with 17 fourth- quarter points.
A frantic pace was set early and Atlanta led 42-37 after one quarter despite 18 points by Davis. Johnson scored 15 for Atlanta.
Johnson continued to shine in the second scoring 14 points but the Warriors were able to pull within 70-68 at the intermission.
