NBA Game Summary - Charlotte at Minnesota

Final Score: Charlotte 109 - Minnesota 89

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Jason Richardson had 25 points and eight rebounds as the Charlotte Bobcats beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 109-89, at the Target Center.

Emeka Okafor added 19 points and 11 boards and Matt Carroll scored 18 points for the Bobcats, who have won two straight and snapped a nine-game road losing streak.

"It's big for us," said Richardson. "It's been a tough season on the road this year and to get a road victory the way we did tonight with everyone playing, everybody contributing, that's big for us."

Raymond Felton had 14 points and 10 assists, while Jared Dudley scored 14 for Charlotte.

Al Jefferson had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Ryan Gomes added 17 points for the Timberwolves, who have dropped four in a row. Randy Foye scored 16 points, Craig Smith 15 and Sebastian Telfair 12 with nine assists for Minnesota.

Trailing, 59-54, Telfair made a jumper before Foye and Gomes hit back-to-back three's giving Minnesota a 62-59 lead with 8:22 left in the third quarter.

Minnesota's Kirk Snyder was called for a technical, however, and Felton made the free throw followed by a triple putting Charlotte back on top 63-62 with 7:33 left in the third.

The Bobcats scored the final six points of the frame and led 82-75 heading into the fourth.

Charlotte continued to surge early in the fourth. Dudley's trey with 8:35 left gave the Bobcats a 90-77 lead. Dudley added another jumper with 4:14 to go, pushing Charlotte's advantage to 98-82 and the team was never threatened for the remainder of the game.

"This was the most disappointing loss we've had in a while," said Minnesota coach Randy Wittman. "How we came out to start the play really did not carry through 48 minutes tonight. We played aggressive against Seattle but tonight we had a non-aggression pact with the other team."

Dudley's jumper with five seconds left in the first quarter gave the Bobcats a 29-27 edge heading into the second stanza.

The play was even in the second as well with Charlotte scoring the final four points for a 56-50 halftime lead.
