NBA Game Summary - Seattle at Minnesota

Final Score: Seattle 111 - Minnesota 108

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Kevin Durant scored 25 points and Earl Watson hit a big shot from beyond the arc in overtime, as Seattle topped Minnesota, 111-108, at the Target Center.

Chris Wilcox tallied 18 points and 15 rebounds for the SuperSonics, who snapped a four-game skid, but beat Minnesota for a sixth straight time. Watson had 15 points and nine assists, while Nick Collison scored 14 and Luke Ridnour 13 for the Sonics.

Al Jefferson totaled 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have lost three in a row and 10 of their last 12 games. Rashad McCants had 18 points off the bench, while Craig Smith, also in a reserve role, added 15 points.

Minnesota held a 101-97 lead with 15.4 seconds left in regulation after two Jefferson free throws. However, Ridnour hit a three, and after Corey Brewer missed one of his two foul shots with 10.1 seconds to go, Durant raced in for a layup with 4.2 seconds remaining for a 102-102 tie. Ryan Gomes missed a jumper at the buzzer for Minnesota.

Jefferson started the OT with a jumper, but the Sonics scored the next seven points. Durant tied it with two foul shots, and Watson's jumper gave Seattle a 106-104 edge with three minutes left.

Later, Watson came up with a steal and nailed a three-pointer from the left wing with 1:15 remaining

Two jumpers by Randy Foye, the last one with 18.3 seconds left, had Minnesota within 109-108, but Durant made two foul shots with 17.1 seconds to go.

McCants and Foye both missed three-point shots in the closing seconds.

"We gambled when we didn't have to," Jefferson said. "Durant made a big layup and Gomes missed a shot. In overtime they took advantage. There should have never been an overtime game."

The Sonics led 34-26 after the first quarter and 58-51 at the half. The third quarter was tight with the Timberwolves grabbing a 76-75 edge going into the next quarter. Neither team led by more than four in the fourth.

"Nothing was really clicking in the middle of the game," Watson said. "Early on, everything was good. Toward the middle, I don't know what happened. It was like we lost focus, it was almost as if we were just out of sync, really bad."
