NBA Game Summary - San Antonio at New Jersey

Final Score: San Antonio 93 - New Jersey 83

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Tony Parker scored 25 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and had seven assists as the surging San Antonio Spurs downed the New Jersey Nets, 93-83.

Manu Ginobili had 17 points, and Tim Duncan scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Spurs, who have won nine straight and 13 of 14 to push to the top of Western Conference standings, percentage points ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers, who also won Sunday.

Ime Udoka added 13 points for San Antonio, which has won 10 straight over the Nets.

Vince Carter scored 21 points and raked in eight rebounds to lead the Nets, who have dropped four of seven. Devin Harris, in his first game against the Spurs in a Nets uniform, scored 21 points. Richard Jefferson had 18 points and six rebounds for New Jersey.

San Antonio led by 10 points as the second half opened, and New Jersey never seriously threatened to pull the upset.

Marcus Williams and Jefferson nailed consecutive three-pointers, Williams' to close the third quarter, Jefferson's to open the fourth, cutting the Spurs lead to 72-66.

Udoka answered with a layup, though. A Carter jumper again cut the deficit to six points later in the quarter, but Parker sank two baskets, fueling a 9-2 push, which Parker closed with a driving layup, putting the Spurs up 90-77 with 2:20 left.

Ginobili scored seven of his 17 points in the first quarter, helping the Spurs jump out to an early lead. A 14-3 San Antonio run gave the Spurs an 18-7 lead, but New Jersey rallied. Ginobili drained a jumper in the final seconds of the first quarter, giving the Spurs a 27-20 lead heading into the second.

Parker dropped in a layup with three seconds left in the half, giving him 15 points before the break, and the Spurs took a 53-43 lead into the intermission.
