Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Andre Iguodala scored 32 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers in an upset victory over the Phoenix Suns, 119-114, at US Airways Center.
Andre Miller poured in 25 points and doled out 12 assists for the Sixers, who have won three of their last four contests. Willie Green totaled 17 points, while Reggie Evans and Lou Williams ended with 13 points apiece. Evans added 13 boards, as the Sixers snapped a five-game losing streak at Phoenix.
Amare Stoudemire tallied 26 points and 11 boards for the Suns, who have lost two in a row and three of four. Leandro Barbosa gave 22 points and Steve Nash 21 to go with 11 assists. Boris Diaw had 17 points and Raja Bell 12 in defeat.
Shaquille O'Neal was limited to eight points and seven rebounds. The Suns are 2-4 since O'Neal has entered the Phoenix lineup.
"Right now our problem isn't our offense," O'Neal said. "We have to have some urgency and stop some people. I'm fitting in - I'm swinging the ball to the top and I'm only taking four or five shots a game. I'm just rebounding and trying to fit in. But right now we just have to stop people."
Still down seven, the Suns forced a jump ball and won the tip. Nash dribbled upcourt, pulled up and drained a three from the top of the key with 37.3 seconds left to pull the Suns within 111-107.
On the ensuing Sixers possession, Grant Hill was forced to foul Samuel Dalembert, who hit 2-of-2 to make it 113-107.
Phoenix brought the ball upcourt for a quick Stoudemire dunk, but Philadelphia quickly threw the ball downcourt to a wide open Williams, whose layup gave the Sixers a 115-109 lead with 21.1 remaining.
After a timeout, Nash connected on a three to make it a one-possession game. However, Bell was called for a foul after shoving Green, who went on to drain the shot to make it 116-112 with 18.2 on the clock.
On the inbounds, Hill stole the ball and eventually got it down low to Stoudemire, who connected on a tip-in to make it 116-114.
The Suns were forced to foul, and Green hit both shots to make it 118-114 with 9.3 seconds left.
The Suns botched their inbounds pass and Miller stole it and was fouled, which all but sealed the deal for Philadelphia.
"I think we kept our cool, kept playing and we got a good win," Iguodala said. "Grant Hill had me at first and I got it going a little bit, but I wasn't really attacking it. And Raja got on me a little bit and he's a really tough defender and he started giving me bumps here and bumps there: getting on me really tight. That kind of turned me onto the game a little more. It gave me a little more focus. When he started to do that, I said to myself, 'pick it up and try to get your team a win tonight.'"
The Sixers held a 28-18 lead after the first quarter.
The Suns battled back to knot the game up at 54 at the break. Diaw scored 15 of his points in the first half for the Suns.
A 9-0 run put Philly up 74-64 just past the five-minute mark of the third. Iguodala accounted for seven of those points.
Phoenix responded with an 15-2 burst of its own to take a 79-76 lead. Stoudemire had eight points, Nash hit a free throw and Barbosa had a pair of threes, the latter to close out the scoring with 1:01 on the clock.
The teams exchanged buckets and an Iguodala half-court shot as time expired gave the Sixers an 83-81 advantage heading into the final 12 minutes of play.
Philadelphia used a 12-2 run to begin the fourth stanza. Thaddeus Young's jumper sparked the scoring frenzy and Miller's layup closed it out right around the 7 1/2 minute mark to put the Sixers up 95-83.
Moments later, an Iguodala jumper from just inside the three-point arc opened Philly's biggest lead to that point, 103-87, with 4:52 left in regulation.
The Sixers' lead hovered around 12, until seven straight points brought Phoenix within 108-101. Stoudemire started it off with a dunk, Bell then drained a three and Barbosa closed it out with a layup high off the glass.
