NBA Game Summary - New York at Orlando

Final Score: New York 92 - Orlando 118

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Dwight Howard dominated the New York frontcourt to the tune of 26 points and 22 rebounds, and the Orlando Magic coasted past the Knicks, 118-92, at Amway Arena.

Howard was 10-for-16 from the floor and grabbed five of his boards on the offensive glass, while Hedo Turkoglu went for 25 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists.

Rashard Lewis scored 22 to go with seven boards for the Magic, winners of four of their last five. Carlos Arroyo had 13 points and eight assists and Maurice Evans was the fifth Orlando player in double figures with 11.

"I really thought we dug in defensively and then our offensive energy was tremendous," said Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy. "We got the ball up and down the floor, we got the ball in to Dwight, we attacked the basket, only turned the ball over five times in the second half. I just thought all around it was a very good game."

Jamal Crawford led New York with 23 points and seven assists, but the Knicks shot just 40 percent as a team and were hammered on the glass, getting outrebounded 54-37.

Quentin Richardson had 16 and seven rebounds, while Malik Rose and David Lee scored 11 each off the New York bench in a second straight Knicks loss.

Orlando led 31-29 after one quarter behind 10 points from Lewis, then went on a 17-2 run during the latter stages of the second quarter take a 62-49 advantage. Howard had 10 points in the period, and Orlando's edge was 68-54 at the break.

"We definitely had a tough time with (Howard) tonight," said Knicks center Eddy Curry. "We kind of held him in check for a little bit at the beginning of the game but he kind of got loose and got into the rhythm of the game. He killed the glass and had himself a great game."

The Magic extended their lead to 19 early in the third before the Knicks ran off seven unanswered, pulling within 74-62 on Richardson's up-and-under bucket with 7:17 left in the quarter.

Orlando recovered to run the lead back to 19 by the two-minute mark, and they took a 20-point bulge to the fourth after Arroyo drained a three on the final Magic possession of the period to make it 94-74.

A 9-0 New York spurt had capped by a Lee bucket had the Knicks down just 96-83 with under 9 1/2 minutes to go. But Orlando again thwarted the potential rally, as Turkoglu scored seven consecutive points to stretch the lead to 107-84 with less than six minutes remaining.
