NBA Game Summary - Phoenix at Cleveland

Final Score: Phoenix 110 - Cleveland 108

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Shawn Marion hit a baseline floater with just 1.1 seconds remaining - his first field goal of the night - to give the Phoenix Suns a 110-108 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.

Steve Nash had 26 points, including seven three-pointers, to go with nine assists, Raja Bell added 27, and Marion grabbed nine rebounds while finishing with seven points as the Suns won for the fifth time in their last six games.

LeBron James led Cleveland with 36 points and seven rebounds, while Larry Hughes went for 25 and eight. Zydrunas Ilgauskas contributed 21 points and 10 boards, but the Cavs squandered what was once an 18-point lead and saw their five-game win streak come to a halt.

James broke a 104-104 tie by hitting a step-back jumper with just under two minutes to go, and when Hughes stole a crosscourt pass by Boris Diaw, the Cavs had a chance to make it a two-possession game.

But James settled for a deep three that rimmed out, and Stoudemire drew a foul in transition and hit the ensuing free throws to tie the game at 106. James' shot from point-blank range on the following tripped rattled out as well, and Stoudemire hit two more from the line with 29.9 ticks on the clock for a 108-106 Suns advantage.

Out of a timeout, James went right after the rim, scoring in traffic to tie the game with a little more than 20 seconds remaining. But Phoenix wasted no time, opting not to set up a play, but rather working the ball around for an open look. Diaw drove the right lane and found a cutting Marion along the baseline, who smoothly drained the floater with just over a second to go.

Damon Jones' desperation three off the last-chance inbounds airballed, allowing the Suns to escape with the road victory.

"I just thought we were grittier," Nash said. "We stopped giving up easy stuff and took them out of their rhythm and comfort zone a little bit. That was the difference for us. When you start fighting defensively, good things will happen offensively."

Stoudemire finished with 22 points and six rebounds, while Leandro Barbosa added 14 and Diaw ended his night with 11 points and nine assists. Phoenix shot a ridiculous 17-for-33 (51.5 percent) from three-point range on the night, setting an arena record for most triples made in a game by one team.

"They shot the ball to start the game pretty good from the three-point line," said Hughes of the Suns.W"e were fighting hard to contest the drives but they'd kick it out and they got a lot of threes in the corner. You don't want to give up those threes but when you're spread out its kind of tough."

No other Cleveland player finished in double figures, as James, Hughes and Ilgauskas accounted for more than 75 percent of the team's scoring.

A 7-0 Cavs spurt gave them a 21-13 edge midway through the first, and they led 34-29 going to the second. Phoenix closed to within one on a Bell three with just over 10 minutes left in the half, but Cleveland used a 10-2 spurt to push the lead back to 48-39 less than two minutes later.

James' three-point play extended the cushion to 66-48 with 1:23 before the half, and Larry Hughes stemmed a Phoenix rally with a corner three to send the Cavs into the locker room leading 69-56.

The Suns took control with an 18-2 run in the third, with Bell and Nash hitting back-to-back threes to cap the spurt for an 80-76 advantage with 4:49 to go in the quarter. But Cleveland answered, outscoring the Suns 14-7 to close the period, and took a three-point lead into the fourth.

Neither team gained a decided advantage in the fourth, as the scoring see- sawed into the final five minutes. Hughes put Cleveland up 104-101 with just under five to go, but Nash answered with his seventh triple of the night.
