Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Steve Nash scored a season-best 37 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, and dished out 10 assists, as he and Amare Stoudemire carried the Suns to a 114-105 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Stoudemire tallied 19 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. He and Nash combined for 15 of Phoenix's final 17 points, as the Suns moved to 16-2 this season against the Eastern Conference and became the first team in the Western Conference to post 30 victories (30-12).
Raja Bell added 19 points and Shawn Marion scored 14 for Phoenix, which has won four in a row overall.
Grant Hill, who returned after missing seven games due to an appendectomy, had eight points in 27 minutes in a starting role for Phoenix.
Michael Redd had 28 points to lead the Bucks, losers of three in a row and six of seven. Andrew Bogut chipped in 19 points and 13 rebounds in defeat as the Bucks were swept in the season series and have dropped eight of the last nine meetings.
Charlie Bell made 1-of-2 foul shots to give the Bucks a 99-98 edge with 3:41 left, but Stoudemire came back with a layup 11 seconds later. After Charlie Villanueva missed a three, Nash nailed a shot from beyond the arc to make it 103-99 inside of three minutes.
Following a Milwaukee turnover, Nash hit another three before Redd hit two free throws with 1:46 remaining. However, down 106-101, the Bucks came no closer.
Stoudemire made a layup and then Nash penetrated to the left of the basket before dumping off a pass to Marion for a layup, barely beating the shot clock for a 110-101 margin with 56.8 seconds left, effectively sealing the victory.
"That's what he means to us," Raja Bell said of Nash. "If he doesn't get those opportunities you can pretty much bank on the fact that he will find the guy who is wide open. If teams choose to play us like that it's fine because he is probably our best shooter."
Nash hit all four of his foul shots in the last minute.
"It's frustrating, but at the same time Steve Nash plays his best basketball when he's getting 25 assists in a game," Bogut said. "We can't afford to let him do that. We thought we'd be closer in the game if he's scoring 30 and the other guys are around 10."
Bobby Simmons had 15 points and Villanueva scored 14 to go along with nine rebounds for the Bucks.
Milwaukee held a six-point lead less than four minutes into the game, but the Suns rallied and were ahead 30-24 after 12 minutes.
The Bucks bounced back with a big run in the next quarter, an 18-4 flurry to grab a 57-48 lead. It was 62-54 at the half and the Bucks were in front 83-77 going into the fourth. Charlie Bell's three-pointer opened the last quarter.
