New York, NY (Sports Network) - Jamal Crawford poured in 29 points, including a 6-of-7 effort from beyond the arc, and Zach Randolph notched his 18th double-double of the campaign with 14 points and 11 rebounds, as the New York Knicks turned in their second straight dominating performance with a 105-93 victory over Washington.
"We had good ball movement, and we had a lot of energy," said Crawford.
New York opened the contest like it finished Sunday's 89-65 waxing of Detroit, playing suffocating ball defense and holding the Wizards to 14 points on 6- of-27 shooting.
Washington only made 40 percent of its shots on the night and 9-of-27 treys. Caron Butler paced the Wizards with 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Antawn Jamison totaled 21 points and eight rebounds and Roger Mason collected 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting.
"This is a game, they got to a lot of loose balls, they outhustled us on a couple of plays," said Butler.
The Wizards saw their three-game winning streak come to an end against the suddenly resurgent Knicks, who have won two straight since reports surfaced that the team could remove head coach Isiah Thomas before season's end.
Nate Robinson scored 14 off the bench, Quentin Richardson added 13 while Eddy Curry and Fred Jones scored 10 points apiece. Jones and Robinson each made 2- of-3 three-pointers on the night, part of an 11-of-17 team effort from beyond the arc.
After a Butler short jumper brought the Wizards within 5-4, New York ran off 12 straight capped by back-to-back threes from Jones and a Richardson jumper.
An 8-0 stretch pushed the edge to 30-12 near the end of a first quarter that finished with the Knicks in front 30-14.
Washington chipped away at the deficit in the second period, clawing within 51-41 at the half.
The Wizards held on to the momentum in the third stanza. They stayed at arms length before rattling off the final four points of the period capped by two free throws from Butler for a 77-72 game after 36 minutes.
After seeing its lead drop to 77-73, the Knicks responded with an 11-2 spurt highlighted by a pair of Crawford treys for an 88-75 advantage with 8:52 on the clock.
Washington got no closer than eight the rest of the way.
