NBA Game Summary - Charlotte at Cleveland

Final Score: Charlotte 106 - Cleveland 113

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - LeBron James scored 31 points, pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds and dished out eight assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers used two overtimes to outlast the Charlotte Bobcats, 113-106, at Quicken Loans Arena.

James scored the first six Cavs points in the decisive second overtime period, and Anderson Varejao added a season-high 16 points and 18 boards for Cleveland, which has won five of its last six.

"My team needs me to make big plays down the stretch and that's what I did," James said. "It wasn't just me though, everybody made plays. I'm their leader so it looks like I make the most plays, but tonight everybody else was making plays too."

Gerald Wallace had 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bobcats, and Nazr Mohammed scored 21 and grabbed 15 boards prior to fouling out early in the first overtime. Jason Richardson added 19 - though he scored just two after the first quarter - and Raymond Felton had 12 points and 11 assists before leaving late in the second OT with an ankle injury, as the Bobcats saw a two- game win streak snapped.

"We were just out-manned and we ran out of gas at the end," said Wallace. "We got sloppy and lost a lot of our mental focus right there at the end. To play with the guys that we have and go out and give the effort that we did, we didn't make it easy for them."

After Felton forced overtime with a regulation-ending three and then missed on a potential game-winner in the first extra session, James hit a deep three- pointer and a free throw to give Cleveland a 104-102 lead with over three minutes remaining in the second OT.

Following a miss by Wallace, James then bagged a jumper from the wing, and when Damon Jones knocked down a corner three, it was 109-102 Cavs with 1:27 remaining. Charlotte was unable to mount another comeback, and Cleveland salted away the win at the foul line from there.

Larry Hughes finished with 16 points, while Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Daniel Gibson added 14 apiece for the Cavs.

Matt Carroll hit four threes on his way to 18 points for Charlotte, and Emeka Okafor ended with nine points and nine rebounds.

Felton hit Mohammed with a beautiful feed for a dunk and a 90-89 Bobcats lead with 1:31 to go in regulation, but Hughes knifed his way to the hoop for a lay-in to make it 91-90. The two teams traded empty possessions, and after James' three rimmed out, Charlotte had a chance to go ahead with 22 ticks on the clock.

Richardson got the ball on the wing and started to his left, but James poked the ball away and chased it toward midcourt. Carroll, in a desperate attempt to stop him, dove at James' legs, and the ball careened out of bounds. The initial ruling was Cavs ball - though it appeared to last touch James' left hand - and was then overturned and ruled a jump ball.

James won the tap against Mohammed, sending the ball back to Hughes, who was fouled and then hit a pair from the line to make it a 93-90 game with just 5.7 seconds to go. But Felton took the ensuing inbounds pass, raced up the court and canned an overtime-forcing three without much defensive resistance.

Carroll's three with under two minutes to go in the first extra session gave Charlotte a 100-97 lead, but Jones answered with his own triple. Out of a timeout, Felton's last-gasp attempt from the elbow airballed, sending the game to a second OT.

Jones had just the two threes, finishing with six points, while Drew Gooden had 10 points and six boards for Cleveland.

Richardson had 17 first-quarter points as the Bobcats took a 37-35 advantage into the second. Cleveland used an 11-1 run to grab a 51-41 lead with under four minutes to go in the half before Charlotte whittled it down to 58-51 by the break.

Wallace's three-pointer with just under six minutes to go in the third gave the Bobcats the lead back, 68-66, and they extended the cushion to 77-69 by the end of the period.

Charlotte maintained its edge for most of the final stanza until James began to take things into his own hands, scoring four straight to tie the game at 86 with 2 1/2 minutes remaining.
