Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - LeBron James scored 22 points and the Cavaliers tied a season-high with their fourth straight victory, 95-79 over the Seattle SuperSonics.
Daniel Gibson tallied 17 points, going 5-of-8 from three-point range, and Anderson Varejao chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds for Cleveland, which also posted its fourth straight win at Quicken Loans Arena. James, who had 24 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter of a 93-90 win at Toronto on Sunday, sat out the final 8:36 of this game with the Cavs holding a 19-point lead at the time.
"We came in with the mindset to get the job done," James said. "Early on we got defensive stops and were able to get the lead."
Kevin Durant led the way with 24 points for the Sonics, but he was forced out of the game midway through the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury. Wally Szczerbiak added 15 points and Nick Collison had 14 rebounds for Seattle, which dropped its fourth straight.
Durant had a slight limp as he left for the locker room with 7:22 remaining due to a sprained left ankle. Durant hit a jumper from the right wing, but his ankle landed on the foot of Cleveland's Devin Brown. Durant then departed for the bench before going to the locker room under his own power.
"It's feeling better," Durant said. "I tweaked it earlier in the season, so I kept the ankle brace on it for throughout the whole year, but I still managed to get it hurt a little bit. Hopefully, it will be all right by tomorrow night."
Szczerbiak's three-pointer had the Sonics within 58-49 with 4:31 left in the third quarter, but the Cavaliers responded with a 12-2 spurt, with Gibson's long distance jumper capping the flurry.
It was 74-56 going into the fourth and the Cavaliers coasted to the finish. When James departed, the Cavs led 81-62.
Sasha Pavlovic had 13 points for Cleveland, which shot 40 percent from the field.
Eight straight points moved the Cavs to a 16-8 lead. Pavlovic and Gibson each drained three-pointers during the spurt, and Cleveland held a 24-15 lead after 12 minutes.
James highlighted the second quarter with a pair of dunks and the Cavs were in front by a 45-33 margin at the half.
