(Sports Network) - The Houston Rockets try to earn win No. 50 this season, as they visit the Sacramento Kings tonight at ARCO Arena.
The Rockets are No. 6 in the Western Conference playoff race, a half game out of the fifth seed. Houston is 1 1/2 games behind San Antonio and New Orleans in the Southwest Division.
Houston plays the second of a five-game road trip this evening. On Sunday, Tony Parker and Michael Finley both scored 22 points as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Rockets, 109-88, at the AT&T Center.
Luis Scola scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Rockets, who had their two-game winning streak halted. Tracy McGrady ended with 13 points and was just 5-of-22 from the field.
The Rockets, who won 52 games last season, are 21-14 on the road this season. They will visit Portland on Thursday, Seattle on Friday and the Clippers on Sunday.
Sacramento opens a two-game homestand tonight. Kevin Martin and Ron Artest combined to pour in 60 points, and the Kings used a big second half to pull away from the Seattle SuperSonics, 120-107, on Sunday at KeyArena. Martin ended with a game-high 31 points, while Artest posted a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds.
The Kings are 22-13 at home this season. They will host the Clippers on Thursday at ARCO Arena.
Houston has won two in a row and is 2-1 this season against the Kings. The Rockets have captured five of the last six contests in the series.
The Rockets have won four of their last six at Sacramento.
