(Sports Network) - The playoff-hungry Denver Nuggets will close out a three- game homestand this evening, when they take on the Seattle SuperSonics at the Pepsi Center.
Denver is 2-0 so far on the homestand and improved to 27-7 as the host with Friday's 137-105 blowout of the Toronto Raptors. Allen Iverson scored 28 points and Carmelo Anthony added 22 for Denver, which has won two straight overall and five in a row as the host.
Marcus Camby had 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Chucky Atkins had 17 points and seven boards for the Nuggets. Denver is two games behind Golden State for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Seattle, meanwhile, has dropped seven straight and 11 of its last 12 games, including Friday's 121-116 setback to the Minnesota Timberwolves at KeyArena. Rookie phenom Kevin Durant scored a game-high 24 points for the Sonics, who will try to stop a six-game slide as the guest on Sunday.
Chris Wilcox had 20 points and Jeff Green added 18 in the loss to Minnesota.
Sunday's showdown between Seattle and Denver is the third of four meetings this season. The Nuggets are slated to visit the Sonics on April 6.
Denver is 2-0 so far this season and has won three straight and five of the last six matchups with the Sonics.
Seattle has lost three of four and four of its last six trips to Colorado.
