(Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks will shoot for their fifth straight win when they pay a visit to the Miami Heat tonight at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Dallas will try to stop a three-game slide as the guest on Sunday, and owns a 14-19 mark away from home this season. In Friday's 116-97 victory over Indiana in the finale of a five-game homestand at American Airlines Center, Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points to lead the Mavs to a 4-1 mark on the stand.
Jerry Stackhouse and Jason Terry tallied 14 points apiece, as Dallas sits seventh in the Western Conference standings -- one game behind San Antonio. The Mavs are also 2 1/2 games behind red-hot Houston for the top spot in the Southwest Division.
On the injury front for the Mavericks, forward Malik Allen (hip) is doubtful for Sunday's game and forward Devean George (back) is listed as questionable.
Miami will close out a four-game homestand on Sunday, and is 0-3 so far. It fell to 6-27 in South Beach this season after Friday's 103-94 setback to the Orlando Magic, as Jason Williams scored 34 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed six boards in Miami's seventh straight loss overall.
Daequan Cook tallied 15 points and Ricky Davis 11 for the Heat, who have dropped five in a row as the host. The Heat were without the services of guard Marcus Banks (hamstring), forwards Shawn Marion (back), Udonis Haslem (sprained ankle) and center Earl Barron (knee).
Banks is out indefinitely, while Haslem and Barron are both doubtful for Sunday's game. Marion and Williams (ankle) are listed as probable.
Sunday's matchup between Dallas and Miami is the second and final meeting of the season. The Mavericks posted a 94-89 triumph in the first meeting on January 4 at American Airlines Center, as Nowitzki scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a rematch of the 2006 NBA Finals won by Miami.
Dallas has won seven straight, 10 of 11 and 13 of the last 15 contests in the series. It has also won three straight and six of its previous seven trips to South Beach.
