(Sports Network) - The Detroit Pistons will try to get back on the winning track when they resume a five-game homestand tonight versus the San Antonio Spurs at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Detroit is 1-1 so far on the homestand and fell to 24-6 at The Palace this season after suffering a tough 83-82 setback to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. Rasheed Wallace finished with 17 points for the Central Division-leading Pistons, who had a two-game win streak come to an end.
Chauncey Billups netted 15 points and Antonio McDyess had 14 along with 11 rebounds in defeat.
Detroit, the second-seeded team in the East, will also host New Orleans and Denver on the current stand.
San Antonio, meanwhile, has been struggling as of late, having dropped three of four since an 11-game winning streak. The Spurs opened a three-game road trip with Wednesday's 100-75 loss to the Hornets at New Orleans Arena, as Tim Duncan led San Antonio with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Tony Parker also scored 24 points and Manu Ginobili had 11 for San Antonio, which was dealt its largest margin of defeat this season.
The Spurs will also visit Philadelphia on the trek and own a 17-15 record away from the AT&T Center this season.
San Antonio will be without forward Bruce Bowen, who was suspended for one game earlier Friday for striking Chris Paul of the Hornets with his leg. The incident occurred following a foul call on Paul with 5:15 remaining in the third quarter of Wednesday's loss.
The Spurs are tied atop the Southwest Division standings with red-hot Houston and sit third in the Western Conference playoff chase.
Detroit handed the Spurs a 90-80 loss on January 10 at the AT&T Center. Wallace scored 23 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead Detroit, which has won four of its last six meetings with the Spurs.
