(Sports Network) - As the Toronto Raptors continue to attempt to get by without the services of their best player, the slumping squad hopes to reverse its recent fortunes when the lowly Seattle SuperSonics visit the Air Canada Center this afternoon.
The Raptors have played four straight games without All-Star forward Chris Bosh and suffered losses in three of those outings. Toronto has dropped four out of its last five overall and fallen two games behind Cleveland in the race for the No. 4 playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.
Bosh is dealing with a sore right knee and isn't expected to return to action for at least a few more days.
Toronto's latest setback came in overtime on Friday, when the club come out on the short end of a 110-106 decision to visiting Washington.
Andrea Bargnani poured in 27 points for the Raptors and Jose Calderon scored 20 while dishing out nine assists. Rasho Nesterovic grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds in a losing cause.
Toronto owns an 18-13 record at the Air Canada Centre for the season but has lost two in a row on its home court.
Perhaps a matchup with the SuperSonics, who sport the NBA's fourth-worst record at 16-46 and are a brutal 6-25 on the road this year, could get the Raptors back on track.
Seattle is in the midst of a grueling seven-game road trip that began with an overtime victory at Minnesota on March 2. The Sonics have lost three straight contests since then and were dealt a 117-83 defeat by red-hot Philadelphia on Friday.
The Sonics committed 20 turnovers against the 76ers and yielded over 100 points for the eighth consecutive game. Seattle has won just once during that stretch.
Chris Wilcox paced Seattle with 20 points on Friday, while rookies Kevin Durant and Jeff Green netted 14 and 12, respectively.
The Sonics did win the lone 2007-08 meeting between these teams, a 123-115 triumph at KeyArena back in December. Seattle has also topped the Raptors eight times in 11 encounters since the start of the 2002-03 campaign.
