Minnesota Timberwolves (13-48) at Los Angeles Clippers (20-40), 10:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Timberwolves hope to build off a rare road win as the Western Conference bottom-feeders continue their trip with tonight's encounter with the Los Angeles Clippers from the Staples Center.

The Timberwolves earned only their third victory as the visitor this season with Friday's 111-103 decision over Sacramento at ARCO Arena. Minnesota had a pitiful 2-26 road record coming into the contest and halted a five-game overall losing streak with the triumph.

Rashad McCants led a balanced Minnesota scoring attack with 22 points, while Al Jefferson contributed 21 points and 13 rebounds to the winning effort. Craig Smith chipped in 18 points off the bench for the Wolves and Ryan Gomes ended with 17.

The T-Wolves will now try to put together back-to-back road wins for the first time since April 1-6 of last season as they wrap up a three-game trek this evening. Minnesota began the trip with a 105-76 loss at Utah on Wednesday.

They will be facing a Clippers squad that has lost seven of its last eight games following Friday's 119-82 setback to the crosstown rival Lakers, who shot a scorching 61 percent (14-for-23) from three-point range and had seven players score in double figures.

Corey Maggette topped the Clippers with 22 points and Chris Kaman pulled down 11 rebounds to go along with his 14 points. Josh Powell also had a double- double for the Clips, amassing 12 points and 10 boards in a reserve role.

The Clippers will be ending a string of five straight games at the Staples Center -- although they were designated as the visiting team for last night's matchup -- and own a 12-21 home record for the year. They will start up a five-game road trip Monday in Miami and wrap up that string of games with a battle with the Timberwolves at the Target Center on March 17.

These teams have split a pair of 2007-08 meetings, with each winning on its home court. Minnesota has lost four of its last five as the visitor in this series.
