(Sports Network) - The Golden State Warriors continue a series of road games against Southeast Division teams with tonight's matchup against the lowly Miami Heat from AmericanAirlines Arena.
Golden State has split the first two tests of the four-game trek, earning a 17-point win at Atlanta on Tuesday and dropping a 118-109 decision to Charlotte the following evening. That loss stopped a four-game win streak for the Warriors, who currently lead Denver by one game in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The Bobcats closed out the game with a 13-3 run and received 42 points from ex-Warrior Jason Richardson. The sixth-year pro was acquired by Charlotte from Golden State last June.
Monta Ellis scored 32 points and Baron Davis had 30 for the Warriors, while Stephen Jackson netted 21 points in defeat.
Golden State, which is 16-13 on the road for the year, concludes the trip with Saturday's visit to Orlando.
Miami is sporting a league-worst 11-47 record and is riding a two-game losing streak, with the club's latest setback coming at home to Toronto on Wednesday. The Raptors cruised to a 108-83 victory despite playing without All-Star forward Chris Bosh.
Marcus Banks poured in 21 points and Dwyane Wade added 16 for the Heat, who are a horrid 3-29 since December 22.
These teams squared off in Oakland back in December, with the Warriors posting a 120-113 decision. However, Golden State has left with losses in 11 of its last 12 visits to Miami.
The Heat have also won six of their last eight overall meetings against the Warriors.
