(Sports Network) - Central Division rivals square off this afternoon, as the Cleveland Cavaliers welcome the Chicago Bulls to Quicken Loans Arena.
This is the first meeting between the teams since they were both involved in a blockbuster three-team trade. On February 21st, Cleveland acquired forward/center Ben Wallace and forward Joe Smith from the Chicago Bulls, as well as swingman Wally Szczerbiak and guard Delonte West from the Seattle SuperSonics.
Chicago received guards Larry Hughes and Shannon Brown, plus forwards Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons from the Cavaliers, while Seattle picked up former Cavs Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall as well as forward Adrian Griffin and a 2009 second-round draft pick from the Bulls.
Cleveland concludes a short two-game homestand. On Friday, LeBron James scored 30 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out 13 assists to lead the Cavaliers in a 92-84 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Quicken Loans Arena.
Devin Brown added 13 points for the Cavaliers, who halted a two-game losing streak. West added 12 points and five assists, while Damon Jones scored 11 and Zydrunas Ilgauskas tallied 10 points and six rebounds.
Ilgauskas (strained back) is expected to miss today's contest.
The Cavaliers will visit New York on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden and Chicago on Thursday at the United Center.
Cleveland is 18-10 at home this season.
Chicago attempts to get back on the winning track against Cleveland. Antawn Jamison scored 17 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, as the Washington Wizards erased a 20-point deficit on the way to a 97-91 win over the Bulls at the United Center.
Andres Nocioni scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Bulls, who have lost three of their last four games overall. Luol Deng had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Chicago, while Kirk Hinrich and Hughes both scored 16 in defeat.
The Bulls are 11-20 on the road this season. They will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday at the United Center.
This is the first of four meetings between the clubs this season. The teams split four contests last season.
