Washington Wizards (27-30) at Chicago Bulls (23-34), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Chicago Bulls will attempt to record back-to-back wins for the first time in over two months when the injury-plagued Washington Wizards invade the United Center this evening.

Chicago has not won two consecutive games since defeating Milwaukee and New York from December 28-30. Although the Bulls have gone a lackluster 12-17 following that modest streak, the club has shown signs of progress since last week's three-team, 11-player trade that also involved Cleveland and Seattle.

The Bulls have split four contests since pulling off that massive deal on February 21 and ended a three-game road trip with Wednesday's 113-107 victory at Indiana. Larry Hughes, one of the players acquired from the Cavaliers in the swap, paced Chicago with 29 points on 10-of-19 shooting.

Five other Chicago players scored in double figures, with Luol Deng contributing 16 points, six rebounds and five assists and ex-Cav Drew Gooden pulling down 15 boards to go along with 10 points.

Ben Gordon also had 15 points for the Bulls, who began the trek with losses to Houston and Dallas.

Hughes and Gooden will be making their United Center debuts in a Chicago uniform this evening. The Bulls did host Denver one day after the trade, but neither played in the team's 135-121 triumph over the Nuggets.

Chicago has won three of its last four at home, including two in a row, and is 12-14 in the Windy City this season.

Washington will be wrapping up a miserable February in which the team posted a 3-10 record thus far and have been without stars Gilbert Arenas (knee surgery) and Caron Butler (torn labrum in hip) for most of the month. The Wizards did bring a modest two-game win streak into Tuesday's matchup at Houston, but that came to a halt with a forgettable 94-69 defeat to the red-hot Rockets.

The Wizards scored a franchise-low 23 first-half points and shot just 31 percent from the field on the night. Antawn Jamison netted 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Washington, with rookie Nick Young adding 16 points off the bench.

Butler sat out his 10th straight game on Tuesday, and the Wizards are 9-35 since the 2005-06 campaign when the standout forward is not in the lineup.

Washington concludes a three-game road trip this evening and has dropped 10 of his last 12 away from home. The Wizards own an 11-18 away mark for the year.

The Wizards have also lost six straight games at the United Center and haven't won at Chicago since October 29, 2003. The Bulls have taken seven of the last overall meetings between the clubs as well, including the last three tests.
