Los Angeles Lakers (28-16) at Toronto Raptors (25-20), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Lakers play the second of a season-long nine-game road trip, as they visit the Toronto Raptors tonight at Air Canada Centre.

Los Angeles made a big trade on Friday, as it acquired Spaniard Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies for rookie Javaris Crittenton, center Kwame Brown and a pair of first round picks (2008, 2010). Gasol, who is a one-time All-Star, averaged 18.9 points and a team-best 8.8 rebounds in 39 games for the Grizzlies this season.

On Thursday, Tayshaun Prince scored 22 points, including a three-point shot with 4.4 seconds remaining that lifted the Detroit Pistons over the Lakers, 90-89, at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Lakers have not won in the Motor City since January 8, 2002, having lost nine in a row. That skid includes three defeats in the 2004 NBA finals.

Kobe Bryant poured in a game-high 39 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Lakers, who have dropped four of their last five games overall. Bryant also committed a career-worst 11 turnovers as Los Angeles began a season-long, nine-game road trek.

The Lakers will also visit Washington, New Jersey, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Charlotte and Minnesota on the current swing. LA is 11-9 on the road this season.

Toronto attempts to make it back-to-back wins against the Lakers. Andrea Bargnani scored 19 points to lead the Raptors past the Washington Wizards, 122-83, on Wednesday at Air Canada Centre.

Chris Bosh collected 16 points for Toronto, which has captured three of its last four contests and eight of 11 overall. Anthony Parker contributed 15 points, while Jose Calderon netted 11 and handed out 11 assists in the victory.

The Raptors are 14-8 at home this season. They will visit the Miami Heat on Monday at AmericanAirlines Arena.

This is the first of two meetings between the Lakers and Raptors. LA is scheduled to host Toronto on March 11 at the Staples Center.

The teams split a pair of meetings last season. The Lakers have dropped two of their last three at Toronto.
