Denver Nuggets (26-17) at New Orleans Hornets (31-12), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The red-hot New Orleans Hornets go for their ninth straight victory when they host the Denver Nuggets tonight at New Orleans Arena.

This is the third and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs. The teams split a pair of contests at Denver.

The Nuggets have won five of six and six of their last 10 at the Hornets.

The Hornets play the first of a two-game homestand. David West scored 32 points and pulled down seven rebounds, keying a fourth-quarter onslaught as New Orleans cruised past the defending world champion San Antonio Spurs down the stretch for their eighth straight win, 102-78, at the AT&T Center.

Peja Stojakovic scored 22 points and Chris Paul netted 17 and dished out 11 assists for the Hornets, who haven't lost since getting blown out by the Lakers back on January 9th, and are now 25-2 when leading going to the fourth quarter. Tyson Chandler had eight points to go along with his game-high 12 rebounds in the victory.

New Orleans, which has captured six in a row as the host, is 15-7 at home this season. The Hornets will host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday in the finale of the stand.

Denver attempts to get back on the winning track, as it plays the middle contest of a three-game road trip. Reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter as Dallas earned a 90-85 win over the Nuggets on Sunday at American Airlines Center.

Allen Iverson had 23 points to lead the injury-depleted Nuggets, who had a two-game winning streak halted. Carmelo Anthony sat out his third consecutive game for Denver with a sprained left ankle. Anthony Carter stepped up for 20 points for the Nuggets, who have lost 19 of their last 21 at Dallas.

Anthony is questionable for tonight's contest. He is averaging 25.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season.
