Los Angeles Lakers (27-13) at Dallas Mavericks (28-13), 8:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Two of the top teams in the Western Conference collide tonight, as the Dallas Mavericks welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to American Airlines Center.

This is the first of four meetings between the clubs this season. The Mavericks went 3-1 against the Lakers during the 2006-07 campaign, and have won four of the last five contests overall.

The Lakers have lost three straight after winning their last two at Dallas.

The Mavericks play the first of a two-game homestand this evening. Devin Harris scored 13 of his 23 points in the third quarter, as Dallas remained perfect against the Bobcats with a 102-95 victory on Wednesday at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Harris, who shot 8-of-12 from the field, also had nine assists, as Dallas moved to 7-0 all-time against the Bobcats.

Josh Howard finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Mavericks, who have won nine of their last 11 games overall. Reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki collected 20 points and eight rebounds, while Jason Terry posted 16 points in the victory.

Dallas is an impressive 18-3 at home this season. The Mavericks will host Allen Iverson and the Denver Nuggets on Sunday at American Airlines Center.

Los Angeles tries to get back on the winning track this evening. Tim Duncan scored 28 points and pulled down 17 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs downed the Lakers, 103-91, at AT&T Center.

Kobe Bryant scored 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Lakers, who have dropped two of their last three games after winning seven straight. Lamar Odom had 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Ronny Turiaf netted 14 in defeat.

The Lakers are a solid 11-7 as the visitor this season. The will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday and the New York Knicks on Tuesday at the Staples Center.
