(Sports Network) - The Seattle SuperSonics will try to stop a season-high 10- game slide this afternoon, when they resume a four-game road trip against the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.
Seattle is 0-3 on the trip and 4-18 away from the Emerald City this season. In Saturday's 111-96 setback to the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center, Wally Szczerbiak had 26 points to lead the Sonics, who last lost 10 in a row from December 12-29 of the 1968 season. Seattle is on the verge of equaling the franchise-worst losing streak of 12 games, set over two seasons from March 15, 1969 to October 28, 1970.
Rookie phenom Kevin Durant was held to six points on just 3-of-12 shooting from the floor in his 24-plus minutes against the Mavericks.
Houston, meanwhile, will close out a five-game homestand on Monday and is 10-8 as the host this season.
The Rockets ended a two-game slide and improved to 1-2 on the stand after Saturday's 83-81 victory over the rival San Antonio Spurs. Yao Ming had 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Rafer Alston had 16 points and six assists for the Rockets, who have won six of their last eight overall.
Tracy McGrady returned to the hardwood after missing 11 games with a bone bruise and strained tendon in his left knee. McGrady scored nine points in 27 minutes of action for Houston.
Houston went 3-0 against Seattle last season and has won nine of 10 and 10 of the last 12 meetings.
