Denver Nuggets (19-12) at Minnesota Timberwolves (4-27), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The struggling Minnesota Timberwolves try to put the brakes on a six-game losing streak, as they host Northwest Division-rival Denver tonight at the Target Center.

This is the third of four meetings between the clubs. Denver won the two previous contests and has captured three in a row in the series. The Nuggets have won three of four and four of their last six at Minnesota.

Denver is scheduled to host the Timberwolves on January 19th at the Pepsi Center.

Minnesota, which lost six in a row earlier this season from December 11-19, plays the second of a four-game homestand. On Wednesday, Brandon Roy scored 24 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers over the Timberwolves, 90-79, at the Target Center.

Al Jefferson scored 29 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have lost six in a row and 12 of their last 13 games overall. Ryan Gomes had 10 points and 10 boards for Minnesota, which is a franchise-worst 4-27 after 31 games.

The Timberwolves are 3-11 at home this season. They will host the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday and Miami Heat on Tuesday at the Target Center.

Denver is fresh off a big home victory. On Thursday, Allen Iverson scored 29 points, including the final two free throws, as the Nuggets outlasted the San Antonio Spurs, 80-77, at the Pepsi Center.

Carmelo Anthony finished with 17 and nine rebounds for the Nuggets, who overcame a lackluster offensive performance to win for the fourth time in their last five outings.

The Nuggets, who have won two in a row as the visitor, are 6-7 on the road this season. They return home to host Andre Iguodala and the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday at the Pepsi Center.
