Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Asdrubal Cabrera recorded three hits, two RBI and a run scored while Victor Martinez hit a two-run homer, as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Chicago White Sox, 9-3, at Progressive Field.

Franklin Gutierrez added a pair of runs batted in for Cleveland, which has won the first two of this three-game series and has captured 12 of its last 15 games overall.

Fausto Carmona (8-5) earned the win after he allowed three runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings.

John Danks turned in a rare poor outing on the road for the White Sox, who remained tied with Minnesota atop the AL Central due to the Twins' 7-5 loss at Toronto Tuesday. Danks (10-8) yielded four runs on eight hits in four frames.

Paul Konerko notched two hits and a run scored in the loss.

After Cleveland grabbed a 2-0 lead on a two-run homer by Martinez in the second inning, the hosts struck again with two more runs in the fourth. Consecutive one-out singles by Andy Marte and Cabrera preceded a two-run double off the bat of Gutierrez.

Carmona tossed a scoreless top of the fifth, but things got interesting in the sixth. Following Jermaine Dye's one-out walk, Jim Thome drilled an opposite- field slicing liner that moved Dye to third. The hit appeared to be good enough for a double, but Ben Francisco played the bounce perfectly off the wall and held Thome -- not known for quick baserunning -- to a very long single. Carmona then unleashed a wild pitch and Dye crossed the plate.

Konerko singled to put runners at the corners and Nick Swisher's long fly ball allowed Thome to tag from third and cut Chicago's deficit to 4-2. The next batter was Alexei Ramirez, who was plunked by Carmona. When pinch-hitter Juan Uribe followed with an RBI double, the Sox were within one. Rafael Betancourt entered from the Cleveland bullpen and fanned Jerry Owens to end the inning.

The Indians put the game out of reach with a five-run output in the seventh. Gutierrez drew a leadoff walk, Francisco was hit by a pitch and Jhonny Peralta singled to score Gutierrez. Octavio Dotel replaced D.J. Carrasco and got two quick outs, but with two runners still on base, a walk to Kelly Shoppach loaded the bags.

Boone Logan replaced Dotel and walked pinch-hitter Shin-Soo Choo, which brought in a Cleveland run and made the score 6-3. Cabrera's two-run single followed and another run-scoring base hit by Sizemore capped the uprising to put Cleveland in firm control for the remainder of the contest.
