American League Game Summary - Baltimore at Cleveland

Final Score: Baltimore 11 - Cleveland 6

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Lou Montanez highlighted an eight-run eighth inning with two hits and two RBI en route to a three-hit night to lead the Baltimore Orioles over the Cleveland Indians, 11-6, in the finale of a four-game set at Progressive Field.

Kevin Millar drove in three runs and scored a run on three hits for the Orioles, who bounced back to win the final two contests after allowing a total of 20 runs in a pair of losses to open the series.

Franklin Gutierrez homered for the Indians, who have dropped consecutive games on the heels of a five-game win streak.

The game was even at three, but the Orioles sent 13 batters to the plate in an eight-run eighth inning and they never looked back. Millar got it going with a lead-off single and got to second when Jay Payton reached first on an error by Andy Gonzalez. Montanez doubled in Millar and Payton and Montanez crossed the plate courtesy of a Juan Castro single which chased Rafael Perez from the game.

However, Edward Mujica did not fare any better. Castro eventually got to third on a groundout and after a walk to Nick Markakis, Melvin Mora brought him around with a double. Aubrey Huff was given an intentional walk and then Mujica walked Ramon Hernandez the traditional way to force in Markakis. Mora and Huff scored on a two-run single up the middle by Millar and then with two outs Montanez drove in Hernandez with a base hit to make it 11-3.

The Indians tried to make an improbable comeback in the ninth, but their rally fell short at three runs. Gutierrez led off with a homer, Kelly Shoppach singled in Shin-Soo Choo and the scored himself via a Ryan Garko double.

Fernando Cabrera (1-1) earned his first win in a scoreless seventh inning, which featured one walk and one strikeout.

Perez (2-3) suffered the loss after getting tagged for four runs -- three earned -- on three hits without recording an out.

The starters received a pair of no-decisions. Zach Jackson made his debut for the Indians after being acquired in the deal that sent CC Sabathia to the Brewers and allowed three runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out one in five innings of work.

Baltimore's Daniel Cabrera went 5 2/3 innings and yielded three runs on eight hits and two walks, while also striking out two.

Each team got on the board with two runs in the first. In the top of the frame, Markakis reached on a fielder's choice and raced to third when Mora followed with a double. Markakis scored on an error by Asdrubal Cabrera and Mora came around courtesy of a base hit by Hernandez.

In the home half, Choo supplied the offense with a two-run double for the Indians. Grady Sizemore and Ben Francisco crossed the plate on the two-out hit after they both singled.

Baltimore gabbed a 3-2 edge in the fifth on back-to-back ground rule doubles by Hernandez and Millar.

However, in the sixth, the Indians tied it again at 3-3. Shoppach smacked a one-out single, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a two-out double by Asdrubal Cabrera.
