National League Game Summary - Milwaukee at St. Louis

Final Score: Milwaukee 6 - St. Louis 3

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Bill Hall started a three-run rally in the 10th inning with a home run, and Milwaukee pulled out a 6-3 win over St. Louis, in the opener of a four-game series between two teams now tied in the loaded National League Central.

Hall finished with three hits and Rickie Weeks hit a three-run homer. J.J. Hardy was 4-for-6 with an RBI while Jason Kendall doubled twice for the Brewers.

Troy Glaus doubled twice with two RBI and Skip Schumaker was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk for the Cardinals.

Both teams are in the chase for first place in the NL Central, with each team just two games back of the Cubs, who fell to Arizona 2-0 on Monday. Milwaukee extended its winning streak to five games while St. Louis saw a five-game winning streak snapped.

Hall erased the Cards' hard work in the ninth, by pushing Milwaukee back in front with a leadoff home run to left-center off Ryan Franklin (3-3). Kendall lined a double to center two batters later and Weeks smoked a single past Franklin. Cardinals second baseman Aaron Miles made a diving stab on one bounce but threw the ball wild past first base, allowing a run to score and Weeks to advance. Hardy followed with an RBI single to left and the Brewers had a three-run cushion.

Salomon Torres (5-2), who blew the save in the ninth, came back out for the 10th and surrendered a one-out double to Glaus. But he settled down to retire the next two batters on ground outs and end the game.

Brewers starter Seth McClung allowed two runs on five hits and two walks through five frames. Cardinals starter Joel Pineiro went six innings and gave up three runs on 10 hits and a walk.

St. Louis jumped out to a lead in the first. After Albert Pujols grounded into a fielder's choice, Rick Ankiel laced a two-out single up the middle and Glaus ripped a two-RBI double to center.

Milwaukee hopped in front with a three-run blast from Weeks in the fifth. Kendall stroked a ground-rule double to right and McClung singled back through the middle ahead of Weeks, who slugged the ball to left field for a 3-2 Brewers edge.

After three scoreless frames of relief from Milwaukee, the Cards mounted a ninth-inning rally off Torres. Yadier Molina clubbed a ground-rule double to the gap in right-center leading off. Brendan Ryan came in to pinch-run before Ryan Ludwick was caught looking at strike three. Pinch-hitter Jason LaRue beat out a dribbler to second for an infield single and Schumaker followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the game.

Miles kept things going by beating out another slow roller to second, but Pujols flied out to center to send the game to an extra inning.
