MLB Game Summary - Milwaukee at Minnesota

Final Score: Milwaukee 5 - Minnesota 1

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Manny Parra scattered two hits and struck out six over seven scoreless innings to win his seventh straight decision, as the Milwaukee Brewers cooled off the red-hot Minnesota Twins, 5-1, in the middle installment of a three-game interleague series at the Metrodome.

Parra (8-2) has not lost since May 3 at Houston. David Riske tossed a 1-2-3 eighth and Mitch Stetter surrendered a run in the ninth.

"I think, basically, we mixed it up really well," Parra said of his pitch selection. "I made some pitches when I had to."

Bill Hall doubled home two runs for the Brewers, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Jason Kendall finished 2-for-4 and knocked in run, while Corey Hart added an RBI double. Milwaukee is 9-3 in its last 12 contests.

Livan Hernandez (8-5) allowed five runs -- four earned -- on seven hits in seven innings to absorb the loss for Minnesota, which had won a season-high 10 straight. The right-hander also struck out five and walked four. Boof Bonser hurled two scoreless frames in relief.

Jason Kubel's 12th home run of the season off Stetter broke up the shutout bid with two outs in the ninth. Delmon Young and Brendan Harris collected the other hits for Minnesota.

"This is two good teams going at it," Kubel said. "We really didn't get everything going, (but) it was still a good game."

A lead-off walk to Rickie Weeks and consecutive singles by J.J. Hardy and Ryan Braun gave the Brewers a 1-0 lead in the opening frame.

Milwaukee plated another run in the second, as Mike Cameron reached on a broken-bat double to the alley in right-center, advanced to third when Hernandez's pick-off throw went into center field and scored on a groundout by Kendall.

The Brewers extended their lead further in the third. Hardy worked a lead-off walk and Prince Fielder drew a one-out walk. Hart then stroked an RBI double to right field. After Hernandez intentionally walked Russell Branyan, Hall smacked a two-run double to right-center for a 5-0 lead.
